    Spare Tire?

I would leave the nail or screw in the tire, pump up the pressure with the electric pump, and drive home or to where I could get it fixed. I can monitor the tire pressure with LeafSpy as I drive so I would know if I needed to stop and pump it up some more. If the tire is really damaged, that...

    Changing a Flat

I figured if I had a slow-enough leak I would just pump up the pressure using the 12V electric pump and drive either until I reached a repair shop or until the pressure fell too low and then I would pump it up again. I can monitor the pressure using LeafSpy as I drive along. I wouldn't take the...

Do I need to keep my key in a coffee can and arrange an armored pocket?

I do like Hradek said about having a spare fob wrapped in aluminum foil hidden inside the car, but I also have the physical key hidden under the car in a magnetic key holder. That way I can use the physical key to unlock the door and then get the hidden fob to start the car.

Leaf bricked - won’t start or charge.

My 2013 Leaf 12V battery was too low to start the car yesterday so I charged it up OK. But it would not charge the traction battery when I plugged in my Level 2 home cable. It beeped once and that was all. Subsequent tries sometimes resulted in the in initial beep followed by the double beep but...

Can the battery be replaced on 1st Gen LEAF (Jan 2011)

The 40 KWhr battery had a state of health of 90% (so, a 36 KWhr capacity), and cost about $9,000, including installation. I had to truck the Leaf there and back which cost $600-700 each way, between San Diego CA and Portland OR. Those prices are over a year old, but if you call EV Rides and talk...

Can the battery be replaced on 1st Gen LEAF (Jan 2011)

I know of two shops that do battery upgrades, including for Gen 1. One is EV RIdes (https://evridesllc.com) in Portland, Oregon, and the other is EV Works (https://www.ev-works.com) on Bainbridge Island, Washington. I have had contact only with EV Rides, about a year ago: I got the 24 KWhr...

    Momentary Braking Loss

OK, so it doesn't sound like a problem, just an unexpected quirk. Thanks to everyone for their helpful comments. Alan

    Momentary Braking Loss

What advantages do you see with an AGM battery? Mi 12V is fairly new, but will eventually have to be replaced. Thanks.

    Momentary Braking Loss

State of charge was around 50%. Capacity is about 87% on a 40KWHr battery.

    Momentary Braking Loss

That is interesting, but I don't know why ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) would do that when the road is dry and I am braking only moderately to slow down and not stoping quite yet.

    Momentary Braking Loss

There is a ¼-mile hill I go down often. Its slope is such that I can just “coast” with my foot off the pedal in “B” mode and maintain a speed of about 40 MPH. On three occasions, as I was braking to slow for the signal at the bottom, the brake pedal would suddenly drop an inch or more but then...

    Door Locking Problem

I tried locking the doors from the in side and then closing the door and it worked! My original problem was that it did not work, but would give me a couple of seconds of beeping. I have tried it several times recently and it worked all the time except perhaps once. I don't know what was...

    Door Locking Problem

There were a bunch of codes, but I did not record them. I did have to clear some more than once. There was one that would not clear. It reads: >B26FC 0009 BCM Keyfob Miss Registration SEC-90[/i] The keyfob locks and unlocks the doors without problem. The original problem remains, but it is...

    Door Locking Problem

Clearing all the codes did not fix it.
