11 year 8 month old leaf finally dead

There's also a well know diode issue which, if the diagnostic procedure confirms, is easily repaired by installing a new inline diode near the charging port. Here's how to diagnose the issue:

    Which battery is better?

The 174 km range the car shows isn't useful for making a buying decision - it's mocked as the guess-o-meter (GOM) for a reason. You can use LeafSpy Pro to obtain the BMS firmware version, there's more than one thread on that in these forums. Do a Google search: "BMS firmware" "30 kwh"...

How To: Reduction Gear Oil Change

This website rewrites Amazon links and breaks them in the process... So, when posting Amazon links, use a URL shortener. Here's your link, now fixed: https://amzn.to/3UMJlAp

Another newbie question: home charger installer in the UK. Recommendations? Ones to avoid?

If you want to keep things simple, just hire a local electrician and tell him/her to install a dryer outlet where you would like to have your EVSE. You don't even have to tell them it's for an EVSE. Then, buy either an inexpensive 240V @ 24A portable EVSE that has a NEMA 14-30 plug on it, or...

    Best way to disconnect TCU

Sorry for the US bias of my reply, what a bummer that there's no recall in the UK and no worthwhile dealer support. I hope you are able to find out what's causing the phantom drain on the 12V system. Once you have an ammeter, if you find there's a constant drain on the 12V battery then try...

    Best way to disconnect TCU

Seems like an awful lot of work when you could have gotten the Nissan dealership to deactivate the 2G TCU for free.

    Best way to disconnect TCU

A 2011 Leaf, like the OP has, uses a 2G radio in the TCU, no?

    Best way to disconnect TCU

Nissan has an official TSB on disabling the TCU, as it's a security concern. Also, because it's a security issue, I'm pretty sure dealers have to disable the TCU upon request for free. It's a so called voluntary recall, if memory serves. Anyways, worth a phone call to a local Nissan dealership...

Axle Clicking when accelerating from a stop, if steering wheel turned

Normally that kind of noise would be the outer bearing on the driver's side drive shaft, but your car is pretty young for that to go already. Typically, the boot splits, it loses grease, and then prematurely wears out. Do you corner like a maniac? :D

Heat options - seat, steering wheel, failed PTC heater

To keep yourself warm, a 12V heated motorcycle jacket liner would work well.

Heat options - seat, steering wheel, failed PTC heater

Looks like you live near Seattle, in which case most winter days are relatively mild. You could add a diesel powered heater to the trunk, which is discussed here: https://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?t=26390&start=30 Obviously, you would want to be super careful about venting the exhaust...

2011-2012 reduction gear in 2013 leaf (efficiency gain)

I didn't realize it shared anything in common with a semi truck! It was definitely an interesting design choice and actually quite a lot of fun... It also made the most of an otherwise wimpy engine, albeit with a lot of shifting involved :-) It's been a long time, but from what I remember you...

2011-2012 reduction gear in 2013 leaf (efficiency gain)

My first car was a 1980 Dodge Colt (really a Mitsubishi) with a twin stick shift. It basically was an 8 speed as it had an overdrive ratio for every gear. It was weird and actually a lot of fun!
