A lease doesn't work for me. My 2016 has 55K on it, and it sat in the driveway for 4 months this fall while I was recovering from a motorcycle v. drunk SUV engagement. A paltry 12k a year is laughable mileage. For me, it's what's the difference, and is it worth $3k? In any case, I'm getting...
Thanks everyone. Looks like the answer is no, not really. Found one in Fairfax, VA for $31K. Trying to talk a closer dealer down into that price range. I figure it wouldn't cost me all that much to have it shipped to me.
My 2016 SV is down to an 80 mile range. While that sounds like a lot, it's not enough to get me to the kids' school and back with the heater on. I've found a couple of 2020s around me and a 2019 that's advertised for about $3k less. I didn't really find much difference between the 2 years on...
I bought my Leaf at the end of 2016. NC is supposed to charge a $150 extra registration fee. So far, I have yet to be charged. I assume that the fees are assessed using the VIN to ID the car. Anyone else experiencing this? I bought the car from a VA dealership, but I wouldn't expect that to...
I dropped my 2016 Leaf off at the dealer and put it on the fast charger. It had about 12 miles left when I put it on the charger. While I was at dinner, someone removed it when it was about 98%. I started driving and noticed that the battery temperature gauge was at max temperature. I drove...
I have a 2016. Is there a way to get the system to display the name of a caller that is in my phone book? I haven't memorized a phone number in over 15 years.
Is it possible to shorten the cable on a Clipper Creek EVSE, or any of the others on the market? I'll be mounting it maybe 10 ft at most from the front of the car. Having all the extra cable will be a major annoyance.
I think I'm just going to tell the builder that I asked for a 220V circuit for a charging station, and I expect their electrician to know what to do. We'll see how that plays out. Otherwise, I'll just have one installed.
When building my house, I told the electrician to wire it for an EVSE. They ran #10 wire and put a 30A breaker on it. I think I can probably get away with putting in a 40A breaker. I like the Juicebox with the wireless, but it is marked for 40A. Does it draw that amount, or is it just...
I got my Leaf this weekend. Hurricane Matthew managed to knock out a large portion of the cell service in my area, as well as my terrestrial internet. I set up my Nissan Connect account on my phone, not realizing that I would need to print out the PIN and pw. The car wouldn't connect to the...
Don't forget to factor in maintenance as well. Depending on if you are a DIYer or not, and you prefer to use dino vs synthetic oils, you can save a bundle of money on the Leaf. There's other engine maintenance to consider as well, if you usually keep your vehicles a long time. My Xterra is on...
Got a Blue 2016 SV delivered on Saturday while hurricane Matthew rained down on NC. Ended up buying it from a dealer in VA and they had one of their technicians trailer it down to me. Drove it about 80 miles this past weekend. Pretty neat car. Should make a good addition to my 2000 Xterra.
