    Washington, D.C. area?

Ordered on "Opening Day" and confirmed (twice) for Maryland delivery in December, 2011. Most recent confirmation was today.

    Gen 1 GM Volt Plug-In Hybrid (2011-2015)

I disagree. I plan on keeping my Leaf for 8 years, and at $0.10/kWh, the total cost of ownership will be less than a comparable vehicle, even with it's $7-9k sticker penalty and $3 gasoline. And don't talk to me about freedom from Big Oil; the vast majority of Volt owners will running them on...

    Gen 1 GM Volt Plug-In Hybrid (2011-2015)

I didn't know about the pressurized fuel tank, but I fail to see how that would solve the spoilage problem. Unless they pressurize it with nitrogen! Seriously, most modern cars have a slight pressurization already, but the Volt and every other gasoline auto must replace the fuel consumed with...

    Gen 1 GM Volt Plug-In Hybrid (2011-2015)

I drove a Volt the other day; only a few miles, and under battery power only. Some impressions: For the life of me, I don't see the market for the Volt. With only 35 miles available on electric drive, what's the point? One of the two "evaluation drivers" who've had Volts for 6 weeks bragged...

Tier 2 pushed back to Summer 2011???

It does make a difference to those of us that use their car for business. By announcing this with only a few weeks remaining in the calendar year, Nissan is forcing me to consider purchasing a gasoline vehicle today for a CY2010 deduction, or gamble that sometime in 2011 I will take delivery of...

    RV towing/regen

If there are two retrieval mounts on the front of the Leaf, and if 4-wheel towing were permitted, and regen was available during towing, the Leaf would be a great runabout to accompany an RV. Not too many modern automobiles can be flat-towed without disconnecting some portion of the drivetrain...

    Led head lights?

Exactly. Very few OEMs even have the ability to measure LED output, as I discovered during 25+ years of selling LEDs for Japanese and American companies. The principal designer of the Leaf headlamp, Valeo, is the conglomeration of several companies. One of them is/was Cibie, a French...

    Battery temp gauge

FWIW, the water temperature "gauge" on many newer vehicles is not a gauge at all. When coolant temperatures reach a preset number, the "gauge" registers the needle in the middle of the range. Gives the driver a warm fuzzy, but is nothing more than a glorified "idiot light". Bernard
