    Rapid charge loss

I was able to observe the same issue again. This is what I found. With the cruise control set at high speed (75 mph) on a steep hill, the car was maxing out the available power bars. This high power caused the SOC to immediately start dropping, at about 1% SOC every second or so. As soon as...

    Rapid charge loss

I have a 2019 Leaf with just over 4,000 miles. I just had a similar experience. I have one steep hill to climb about 15 miles before I reach my work. This morning, the low battery warning went off as I started climbing the hill and I watched the battery charge indicator drop about 10% in 10...

Minimum charge needed after fully discharging battery?

After 25k miles in a 2013 Leaf, I had my first experience completely exhausting the battery charge, sadly the car stopped on an freeway off ramp just 0.1 mile from the nearest charging station. Unfortunately, turtle came about 2 miles sooner than I had expected based on two past experiences...

Level 1 EVSE faults (all 3 lights flashing when its cold)

After a little bit of hassel Nissan replaced it under warranty. I'm not sure the Nissan service department is too familiar with the LEAF. They definately didn't understand my ticket stating that "Level 1 (110V) EVSE is showing a fault light and not charging the car when at cold temperatures"...

Level 1 EVSE faults (all 3 lights flashing when its cold)

Yes, very little charge despite being plugged in all day. It is still charging despite the flashing fault, but at very slow rate. I've only got about 10% charge increase after about 7 hours today. Looks like the unit is rated for much lower temperatures, so it probably will be replaced...

Level 1 EVSE faults (all 3 lights flashing when its cold)

The last 2 days (around 10-15 deg F during the day) my Panasonic EVSE has started faulting when I plug it in at work. The lights on the 2013 LEAF SV blink as if it is charging and it may be charging a little, but at a very low rate. I tried bringing the EVSE inside and letting it warm up, and...

Is the estimated charging time overly conservative?

I've been driving a 2013 SV for 6 weeks now. I've noticed that with both Level 1 and Level 2 charging that the dash and Nissan LEAF app estimated charging time is overly conservative, often estimating more than an hour longer than the actual charge takes. Sometimes, with level 1, it can be off...
