    Considering Buying Another EV

    I have a few comparisons listed at http://blog.deckerego.net/2014/11/are-electric-vehicles-really-better.html comparing the Focus Electric, Leaf, Tesla Model S, Spark, i-MiEV and Soul. Source spreadsheet is listed at...

    New Owner...not brimming with confidence.

    For residential sections of driving with frequent stop signs, roundabouts and lights - keeping B Mode on will help as well. You can turn coasting into braking that way, and regen the batteries rapidly. I had to re-train my driving habits, but I'm saving my brakes in a huge way and extending range.

    Driving style makes a gigantic difference. On my first day a 26 mi drive ate 40% battery - now it eats 25%. Learning about efficient climate control, coasting, B mode and speed can really affect range.

It's always good to see what one can get with a step up...

    Considering buying a LEAF, need specific range data.

    Agreed with the other posters, 62 mi might be pushing it, especially with the Chicago winters. On a brand new 2015 I can do my 44 mi commute with about 15% remaining, and that's in the winter parking in an open lot. With 8 hours of an L1 charge you might be able to make it - then you would only...

    It's not easy being green ... yet another study

    It seems like the article is at conflict with the EPA posted numbers, at least for CO2 emissions - http://www.epa.gov/cleanenergy/energy-resources/refs.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
