    Used Leaf Values rising?

I stumbled across this article yesterday and I can't tell where the author is getting their data from. I don't see any trend at all in used prices of the Leaf skyrocketing, going from $7000 to $11000 over the past few months. The author states it's due to new regulations on ICE cars overseas but...

    End of Lease Strategies?

I also took advantage of the Nissan Santa Rosa sale. I ended up going with an extra 3 years, or the 72 month, 75,000 mile plan with $0 deductible. That should take me through my ownership of this car. I'll keep the board updated on my experience.

Got the car back from the dealer with no resolution. Their tests turned up no problems with either the 12v or a parasitic drain after 4 days of looking.

This is my original 12volt battery. They've actually had it for a couple days now, which worries me.

Well, my 12v battery died again unexpectedly. I've now taken it to the dealership for testing to see if there's a slow drain somewhere, or (more likely) the battery itself is just not being charged sufficiently on shorter trips.

    End of Lease Strategies?

I'm doing the Jim Bone warranty on mine. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but that's the plan. I'm planning on going with the 60 month new car warranty to extend another 2 years - I've definitely had way more than the value of the warranty replaced on my car already, and my car is in the shop...

Isn't most automotive reliability data anecdotal in nature? I feel like once you've heard enough reports of a problem, you can start to believe it's a defect. From what I've seen, we can safely assume 12V battery longevity is an issue on the Leaf compared to ICE vehicles. Anyway, I'm going to...

Is that a true 20AHr battery? Most of the ratings I'm seeing online mention "equivalent Ahr" for replacing a Lead-Acid battery - which seems to be 1/3 the rating. So a "27AHr equivalent" Lithium is actually only 9 AHr. Still the CCA rating is about equivalent to our OEM Leaf battery - ~400...

My 12V battery up and died on me yesterday. Completely discharged, measured less than 5V at the terminals. I had to jump it using my wife's car, and left it running for 30 minutes to recharge. Odd because I had been driving it as normal for the week before. This is on a 2013 SV with ~24k miles...

Buying a leaf with out test driving or seeing the car in person?

That actually brings up another important point - is there anyone in the Maritimes that would be willing to work on the car? In the USA, not all Nissan dealers have LEAF techs or even the equipment required to fix the LEAF. If there aren't other LEAF drivers in your area, dealers may not have...

Buying a leaf with out test driving or seeing the car in person?

I've done it before on a classic car, but not a newer car. Always test drove first. I think it's a big risk to spend that amount of money on a used car sight unseen, not knowing Leaf values in Canada. Does it come with a warranty? What's your driving like? I'm lucky to get 50 miles round trip...

    End of Lease Strategies?

Wow, big difference in amounts there. Wonder if they changed due to a big response from Leaf lessees in April? Just to add a little data, I financed my lease buyout through the dealer. Was going to get a loan from my credit union, but decided to see what the dealer offered in financing. They...

... was offered 7500 NMAC credit towards payoff of 2013 leaf

That is not my experience. From my research, the buyout offers have fluctuated with seemingly no reason whatsoever, going from 0 to 6000 to 3000 over the course of a few months. $7500 is by far the best offer so far, and if you're interested and can get it, waiting is a big gamble. Buying it...

Should I buy a warranty when buying out my leased 2013 Leaf?

My dealer absolutely would not match the price of Nissan Santa Rosa. They showed me where their wholesale price for the same warranty was nearly double the price SR quoted me. They wished me luck, and asked to report back to them how it went.

Should I buy a warranty when buying out my leased 2013 Leaf?

I will raise my voice in counterpoint. I'm getting a warranty on mine. I bought my 2013 SV a couple weeks ago when it came off lease. I have had two catastrophic failures of the PTC cabin heater. Out of warranty you're talking $2000+ to replace that part. I've seen lots of others online who've...
