During an electrical incident at my house, 400V AC were applied to the wall charger. Luckily the car was not charging at that time.
The wall charger was trashed! The MOV and so many circuits where burnt or melted inside it.
If you have 3 phases in your house or neighbourhood, and you have a...
With that little information on what happened, where was applied 400V, what diagnosis you did....
I cannot help!
And if 400V was applied on the control pilot.... Good luck, it is certainly more than just fuses.
This answer is for anybody who knows what they are doing (electricity and electronic) ;)
There are different quick ways to test it.
I would personally do a simple setup by opening my home charging point and add temporarily a diode inline with the control signal.
Let the car charge one time...
I use Myenergi products for that.
Check how Zappi works! It is not "directly" as you plug the panels to the car but it modulates the AC charge to meet the production of the solar inverter.
Not sure it would work in the US due to the 120-240V non sense.
Anyway, I highly recommend NOT using the...
I remember a post here of somebody whom replaced his 24kWh pack with a 30kWh but he had to replace 2other part (one behind the glove box and one under the hood) and I think a dealership had to pair them.... Still good to know!
Hey,
We drove our 2013 as low as it turned off and we had to push it.... 3 or 4 times in a year and a half
Our 2018 went as low as 4%, a guy said it went to 0% without turtle mode so we had a good margin :D
Hello,
At work we have some precharge resistors on capacitors or large motor line.
Sometimes they burn, the reason can be multiple :
Failure of a capacitor
Failure of the contactor
Failure of the delay timer (precharge resistor beeing used to long)
Usually we change everything because the...
Thanks for that input. It is really interesting and comfort me thinking that every part in the Leaf is compatible.
Even the guy whom put a 30kWh battery in a 24kWh model had to swap the 2 on-board computers but the rest still worked fine.
Hello,
Why have you replaced it yourself?
If it's on a 2016 Leaf everything is still under warranty... Well now maybe not anymore, but the PDM is a bit pricey by itself.
I'm not saying, the battery from the 11-12 is no different than the one later, I'm saying for a same year, the parts are the same.
For the reason some people swapped parts from their European car with US parts and the US leafs imported from Europe have no problems finding part in Europe.
I even...
There are lot of informations about how to do so here.
The place where the battery was made doesn't matter, they're all the same!
So all of the informations about how to do so on this forum will be valid, I saw some youtube videos too. But if you don't have knowledges about electricity don't...
I do see some safety issues with this type of EVSE, but nothing that is forbiden.
I installed a 2 pole relay on my EVSE, because who knows how the plug has been wired (incorrectly?).
In Europe, every public station plug is on a RCB 30mA (at least in france)... And good luck to find a GFCI plug...

Well, for the price it cost at the end, I...
Hello,
I did a bit the same thing last summer. I put the "controlboard" in a waterproof box and used some harting plug to be able to change the cords and the plugs.
Most of what I used comes from recycling old industrial part...
