    Hi, everyone

A rough estimate would be I lost about .3 miles/kwh over the Ecopia's and stock wheels on average. I was able to get 4.0 mi/kwh on a hiway trip of just over 100 mi. total. (had a two hour charge in there for the return trip) Speed was pretty steady in the 60-63 mph. range. It seems as though...

Using the DuroMax 5500EH Duel Fuel for Emergency Charging

Sorry about the much delayed response for some reason I just missed your reply. The regulator is china of course and is a dual stage in one unit. I am having problems with it and suspect it is faulty. The mods I have made so far to the engine .....milled the head .075, installed 1.3 rocker...

    Hi, everyone

I only have about 3K miles on them, but they are wearing fine, and I drive pretty agressive.

    Hi, everyone

I am well aware of the 27.5 max current for the Nissan Leaf. I bought the 50a unit to insure against obsolescence as the cost difference was minimal. Some day I may have need for the extra current up to the 40a level of my 50a breaker and wiring.

Poll : Number of miles before losing the first bar

Just lost my first bar yesterday at 31,328 mi. AH 55.85 which is ironically higher than some previous readings in the recent past. SOH is at 85%. I was prepared to lose a bar sometime this summer. We have had a few days in the 90's which I think did the trick.

Using the DuroMax 5500EH Duel Fuel for Emergency Charging

I used my cell phone to send rapi commands to the OpenEVSE using the URL line to access the built in WiFi. The thought being if it was already under load and running perhaps I could set current from 14a to 16a and not bog down....Wrong! so I sent a command for 15a still bogged down and...

Using the DuroMax 5500EH Duel Fuel for Emergency Charging

Also, generator weight is a primary concern for lifting the unit into the trunk. Another concern is how quiet the generator runs. I weighed the generator without the wheels installed and it weighs 115 lbs. For some people this weight will be to much, for me it was relatively easy. I do not have...

Using the DuroMax 5500EH Duel Fuel for Emergency Charging

I have been experimenting with using the DuroMax 5500 for emergency charging for my 2013 Leaf S with QC. Looks like the best I can get is 14a at 240v on gas and 12a on Propane. Here is a link to a June 3 post. and a video of it running at 14a on Propane...

Use of Portable Generator to Charge the Battery in an Emergency

Good News!! The DuroMax Lives!!. Must have been a thermal switch situation, as it now is charging quite happily at 12A. I ran it for approx. 30 min. no issues. Here is a link to a video when I was running at 14A which caused it to suddenly quit charging after about 20 min...

Use of Portable Generator to Charge the Battery in an Emergency

I ordered this DuroMax 5500EH to charge my Leaf in case I got stranded when going on a adventurous trip that might take me somewhere there is not a charging station in range. I used it with my OpenEVSE it worked without being grounded or a special plug modification. I started out at 6A and...

    Hi, everyone

I plan on posting car pics, hopefully today. Here is a pic of the wheels I got on Amazon. They are Verde 17 x 7. I did not weigh them, but probably about 23 lb. I just thought that the stock S model hubcaps were ugly, and one of them had been curbed and was messed up a little.
