    Leaf home charging

Lucky me - the 240v plug on the Leaf was the same as for the Tesla. I removed the adapter and nothing blew up! I think at the new house, I'll install two 14-50 outlets next to each other, so I don't have to remove the plug, when swapping. These plugs seem happier when they stay in place! I like...

    Leaf home charging

Thanks for the answers, all. I'll have an outlet installed with the same plug for both cars. Likely on a 60 or 100A circuit. Whatever isn't being used. The Tesla outlet is a 14-50. I need to look at what the plug is under the Leaf's 110 adapter. And replace the Tesla charger's plug, if...

    Leaf home charging

My 2018 Leaf with the 150mi range isn't driven much, and I've always charged it at 120v. But we are building a house and would like one outlet to charge both the Tesla and the Leaf, at different times. The 240 outlet I use now is 60A. Can the Leaf take that much? Would it just regulate it, like...

    Spare Tire Solution?

This is our 3rd car with no spare. We had a 2015 Leaf, and now have a 2019 Tesla and a 2018 Leaf. I haven't had more than a slow leak in over 25 years, but 2 years ago, my wife pinched a sidewall in a pothole, in the dark. That meant 4 new tires. (we were about to sell it, and wanted it to look...

Counter argument to charge time naysayers

I do like your reasoning. Here's my counter-counter reply, slightly off-topic. We have a Leaf and a Tesla 3. We bought a house in St Augustine - about 6 hours away. We drove down twice to buy the house. Or actually, the sandbox that will eventually be a house. We've never minded the...

    charging

Thank you - I'll try that. I would call the Nissan dealer - but they seem to have shockingly little knowledge of their Leaf. At least with the sales staff. Hopefully the techs know more? And I guess it is the J1772 adapter. It just fits over the Tesla charger. I assume the Leaf will regulate...

    auto pilot reliability

Thanks. So this isn't unusual? Both cars were the same price when new, and I guess our rebate was factored into the used car price. And it's the pecking order? The Leaf isn't a Tesla, which isn't the 13 year old Lexus I finally sold, replaced by the newer Leaf. When my wife retires in the...

    auto pilot reliability

I've had a 2018 Leaf for ~a year. The auto pilot is terrible! On maybe 10% of the bends in the road, going the speed limit or 5 or 10+ - it doesn't make the turn. I have to take control. Is this normal? And it is so cumbersome to engage. With the Tesla, we understood it on the test drive. My...

    charging

This is likely a dumb question, but with my Tesla M3, I got an adapter that fit's the 2018 Leaf's charger. Can I use this with my Tesla charger? (220v, 60a rating). The car isn't driven much, but the charging is so slow, with L1.

    e-pedal always on

How to? It's an honest question. I've read the manual, but don't understand everything. But you know what helps? Yeah - SNARKY REPLIES! I came here because mine no longer stays on. It's much faster than reading the manual. In fact, most people like to be helpful! And to the helpful ones...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

I 'renewed my vows'... And thanks for all the helpful answers, folks! Is this site very active? Stupid me, it didn't take long to realize the fob does have (wifi?). Otherwise, it would just be a mechanical key. My next trick will be to sync the car with the phone. It may be a while before I...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

I 'renewed my vows'. We had a 2015 SL and sold it to buy a 2019 M3. When my Lexus died (GASP!), I bought a 2018 SL Plus in 4-21. So now we have 2 EV's. But I'm retired, and my wife has been working from home for the last year. Neither car is driven much. My wife wants to work another year, and...

Another Way to Enforce 80% SoC Charging

Thanks. Some of these solutions seem complex. I just bought a 2018 PLUS, and was wondering how to limit charging. I'm retired, and we usually drive the M3. (easy to set up start time and charging limit. For me, in town, it's 60%, ~165mi?) I doubt if I'll be driving it much, and will probably...

Run Air Conditioner while out of car for dog.

Careful - a Club might be a good theft deterrent, but not on the steering wheel - which mostly consists of a thin rod, covered by vinyl? A bolt cutter or hack saw would make quick work of it!

2018 - 2019 40KWH LEAF: Should You Buy or Lease?

Capacity - our 2015 SL gets a nightly 120V charge, for my wife's 30 mile commute. And it still has all the capacity bars.
