This is my last post on this board. I have posted several times over the last year trying to get more info on buying out my 2015 top of the line Leaf. We loved the car, and took the 3 free months extension. After being very disappointed in the range of the 2018 we decided to buy this car...

2015 SV, 23k miles. Lease was up on Oct. We did the 6 month extension with 3 free months. A good deal by any view really. Would like to keep the car at the end of the 6 month extension, but I'm not paying the full residual and the thought of dealing with stealerships is no very appealing. I...

So has anyone decided to buy/lease a new 2018 Leaf? They look very nice, but 150 miles is just not cutting it for me in 2017 for a new gen electric car. If anything, I think waiting until 2019 for the >200 mile range car is the smart play. Still very shocked Nissan did not make this an option...

^^^ Nissan will NOT contact you for a buyout. That is the main reason this board message thread was started. You must find a dealer and go through them which....sucks. Most are clueless as to helping you buy your Leaf. Others are stealerships and will take a large portion of your incentive...

Not to mention, they just gave us 3 free months to sign a 6 month lease extension. We signed it today. It's a no brainer, not to mention the price of gas going up makes electric even better.

I'm not sure what you mean. We will not buy our leaf out at the end of the 6 month extension unless there are BIG incentives that come back. But it gives us another 6 months of lease for the price of 3. That's a no brainer.

^^^ Exactly. My residual even after the $4k off is more then what the car is worth with the stiff Leaf depreciation. Hope the incentive goes back up. I would love to keep it....but not at a loss.

Was just offered $4k off. Think the incentive is still $4700, they want to keep $700. Just an update.

^^^ Not a bad deal especially considering the drying up of incentives to buy the cars after our leases are up. Mine is up Oct 5th so at the very least I can see what the 2018 leaf will look like. We really just wanted to buy this one, but now that the incentives are gone we are out car...

I am 4 months away and there is no word on incentives anymore. Crickets from Nissan. And last month the incentives dropped in half of what they were. Ah well, perhaps time to look at a used Model S.

Wow, what a shame. Bolt is now available in TX Model 3 pushing forward New Nissan Leaf announced in few months and... They end the buyout incentive??? That is flat out incredible. They are going to get a flood of 15's back, including mine. And we were ready to buy it. /shrug
