I finally got in touch with a great salesperson who actually drives a Leaf himself. Am planning to complete my purchase on Monday. Will let the group know how it goes. Seems to me, the key is still finding a good salesperson.

Our local "EV-certified dealer" keeps trying to get me to buy the following: 2015 with only 1,100 miles - $12,980 Mine is a 2015 S w/QC, 23000 miles ($10,500 payoff). Seems like they can't go much lower.

My original residual for a 2015 S was $12,310. I did the extension and now my payoff is $10,520. So, not sure what I will end up doing. The problem is the EV-certified dealer in my area is terrible. They keep spamming me about buying used leafs, when I've repeatedly said I have a leased Leaf...

Hoping to get more info soon from dealers who have dealt with the Nissan Leaf. I hear there are now EV-certified dealers. Once I find out which nearby dealer is EV-certified, I will give them a call and see what's going on.

So no incentive to buy out? Hoping there are some incentives when I need to decide in January or February.

Here's hoping now that the new Leaf was revealed we can see some movement on what they plan to do with us current leasees.

Talked with Nissan Leaf specialist. They said I have to make 2 months of payments or they may make me pay back the 3 payments before I can do anything with the Leaf, turn it in etc. I'm thinking I may just want to buy it ASAP, with the right incentive of course.

Anyone know when one could purchase their Leaf and take advantage of incentives if one did the lease extension with the 3 payment covered?

So completed my Leaf extension. Just curious how it went for others. I see that my maturity date has been adjusted, but it shows I owe for August, but my buyout has changed significantly. How did the 3 months show up for you guys? Thanks.

So I received my lease extension paperwork today. Trying to think about the motivation for Nissan to give 3 months free. Have to imagine most folks are doing this. Do they really think the new Leaf will entice us to convert, or is it just a way to keep Leafs off the lot?

Finally found a dealer who would work with me. 3yr lease on 2015 S w/QC. About $4200 off current amount so about $8900 with final about $10,000. So I’m definitely going to wait, but glad I found someone who knows Leafs.

Just heard back from my dealer. Said incentives same as last month.
