    Tesla's autopilot, on the road

To my knowledge, there hasn't been an Autopilot crash, where the driver was using the system properly. As soon as you design a better system, let us know, so we can test it out.

Another driver not doing his job. You need to be prepared to take control.

    Tesla's autopilot, on the road

All AEB systems at the time had that limitation. These systems are to make the car safer, not a replacement for the driver.

I'm glad the NHTSA is not run by the likes of GRA and edatoakrun!

    Tesla's autopilot, on the road

Dropping to 25 mph in a 55 mph zone for no reason, is less safe than continuing at 55 mph, as a human driver would. IMO, The database will never be 100%, until those that set the speed limits are electronically transferring the data to Tesla's data provider. Speed limits are changed all the time...

    Official Tesla Model S thread

    A 30kW LEAF at 70% has more range than a 6 month old 2011-12.

    Tesla's autopilot, on the road

Until the database the 100% accurate, this is stupid. What are autonomous cars going to do, when they have no driver and the database has a wrong or non-existent speed limit?

So, all Tesla needs to do is send out a letter?

    Tesla's autopilot, on the road

Drive-Pilot is okay, but, Autopilot is not? To me Drive-Pilot sounds just as autonomous as Autopilot.

Molthan is cleaning the dash and somehow it is Tesla's fault. Insurance company's will do anything to not pay a legitimate claim. Molthan knows it was his fault.

    Tesla's autopilot, on the road

Again we have people writing about Autopilot, that don't know of what they are writing. The car will not drive itself if the driver goes hands-free. If Autopilot doesn't sense you holding the wheel, when it checks, it activates the emergency flashers and begins to slow the car, with in 30...

    Tesla's autopilot, on the road

Your basic math is defective. How would you save two seconds by slowing down from 74 mph to 65 mph for two seconds? You save about 1/4 of a second, you still are traveling almost 100 ft./sec.

    Tesla's autopilot, on the road

I know that Brown is responsible for his actions, he choose to not control the car, Autopilot did not. I don't ever see the speed limit database being perfect. Speed limits are changed all the time. There are places where the database believes the speed limit is 110 mph and freeways where it...
