Phoenix 2015 S is down to 8 bars. 45000 miles. GOM at 59. No longer tolerable and trading it in about a week for a used Bolt. Time to cut the losses and move on.
Maine is similar to Chicago where both my 2013 and 2016 Leaf suffered about 15-20% degradation after 3yrs and around 35K miles. Whereas we purchased a used Bolt a few weeks ago , w about 50k miles from a warmer climate (Denver) and the battery is in tip top shape with no worries for the next...
4 Months Remaining on our 2016 lease. Currently at 29k miles and anticipate around 32k at lease turn in. SOH 86% at present.
Residual at $10,600
As much as I want to move away from Nissan altogether, the price point is attracting along with the 8 year 100k degradation warranty that should...
Nissan profits plunged 99% and the Leaf is least profitable. Combine with the job cuts and you can extrapolate what’s going on at corporate. Expensive battery replacement warranty claims don’t help either...
2016 SV, 29000 miles. Chicagoland area. 4 months left on lease.
SOH 86%. 24 kWh remaining at 100%
Anticipate 1 bar loss prior to turn in. Proof that even in partial warm weather, the battery prematurely degrades.
My cars been at the dealer for a month while they replaced a faulty battery module. They put it back together, went for a test drive and now the motor power is limited message displays.
Ideas? Another bad cell?
Shut it off over night for a full reset. Top off your 12 volt battery. Compare If your trickle charger works. Also check if you have any car codes. A faulty cell threw off a ground fault on my Siemens.
If you're looking at the 2015 at $15k consider the following:
+29,990 New 2018 S MSRP
-4,000 Typical Nissan discount/credits (probably much better)
-7500 Fed Tax Credit (assuming tax liability);
-2500 TX state EV credit https://electrek.co/2018/06/05/texas-electric-vehicle-incentives-tesla/...
As you keep your cars a while, suggest 2018 as well. It’ll easily make your 100 mile trip and have some overhead for degradation down the road. 2018s will drop with the 2019s around the corner.
