Our search for a 2015-16 Leaf.

DO NOT DO THIS!!!!! The OEM EVSE has components inside that are not capable of the higher voltage. You might get away with it a few times, but eventually the higher voltage will fry the electronics. If you desire or need to charge on 240V, get it upgraded at EVSEUpgrade.com (many many on this...

Buy used 2013 leaf priced at $6000.00?

Sounds like you got most of it. Also, if located in a hot area, then it's likely that the battery has already been replaced under warranty. If so, then you've got a really good deal. If not, then, well, you're stuck with a lousy, old battery that might have been reset, and will likely show 8...

CA owners - are you removing your white/green HOV decals?

No carpool lanes for me, but removing stickers is often easier if you warm them up with a hair dryer/heat gun. The adhesives underneath need to be warmed up, but not too hot to burn the plastic/paper sticker. The thicker the label or adhesive, the more heat needed. I've done this with a large...

Proper EV Etiquette - Charging/Parking - Novice EV Owners

Wow, thanks for the description. I was not aware of these (not that I will ever get to LA in my 2011 Leaf ;)

two-phase 50amps electric switch for EV charger

Wow, so you do you also unplug your electric range, electric dryer, electric hair drier, coffee pot, TV, etc. every day? I understand the concern, but these devices are designed to be plugged in and left. The electric receptacles, however, are not designed to be plugged and un-plugged very...

Charging Etiquette - What Would You Recommend?

Perfect! I'm guessing that they are new and don't understand that your battery is smaller and you may not be able to get home without charging. Hopefully, they will be more accommodating and not just hog the free electrons, charging only at work and not at home.

    Battery Pack Swapping

Agreed! There are a few youtube videos in Russian (or closely related language) that showed a module swaps. I had a non-technical friend listen/watch and he seemed to agree that module swaps and NOT full battery swap was the only way it would work. Plus, there were lots of little problems...

2016-2017 model year 30 kWh bar losers and capacity losses

Yes, I remember that and it sure seemed pessimistic at the time (weren't we all a bunch of wide-eyed optimists?). Now, it's definitely sage advice. I got the 2011 knowing that my 10-20 mi daily use would be absolutely fine for many years. I didn't lease because at 7000 mi/yr it was a good...
