I'll follow this with interest. I too have an annoying rattle to which I have changed everything on the front suspension to no joy. The only things left to suspect are motor mounts/bushings or sub frame bushings etc. I'll be interested to know how you get on.

Hi Drew, this is an old thread. I ended up having to replace the strutts and springs and new drop links as the spring cups had failed and been pushed onto the wheels.

Thanks Toby. I have emptied the boot and the noise persists. Will do the glove box and tied up seat belts but the noise is too soft and does sound like it's coming from outside the car. But I will certainly give the front seats etc a check.
