Dryer Plug Adapter for Leaf 2020 Plus EVSE

Okay. He was going to install a panel that would split the connection. I can’t remember exactly, but I was confused about it. I’m just going to wait and upgrade the main panel later on because it seems to make more sense to have the car outlet have it’s own breaker. I’ve been going fine just...

Dryer Plug Adapter for Leaf 2020 Plus EVSE

I have an electrician who yesterday installed a new plug for a new dryer I'm getting on Tuesday. He suggested replacing the 30 amp breaker for it with a 60amp and then diverting 20amps to the dryer and the other 40 for the car via a new outlet. That way I can use both the dryer and charge the...

Dryer Plug Adapter for Leaf 2020 Plus EVSE

Okay I see what you are all saying. We do have an electric dryer, so it sounds like getting a dedicated outlet just for the car is the best idea. I want to make sure I choose the safest route.

Dryer Plug Adapter for Leaf 2020 Plus EVSE

Interesting. The car won't charge when using the dryer plug, the green light on the EVSE flashes, so I'm assuming it's the adapter or the outlet. I'll either look into getting a 24amp EVSE or have an electrician put in a new 50amp breaker and outlet. I got confused because last year I got some...

Dryer Plug Adapter for Leaf 2020 Plus EVSE

I see. The house was built in the 70s but there was an electric stove that was put in in the early 2000s, or late 90s. So I know they did upgrade the panel back then. I'll just have to do some more research.

Dryer Plug Adapter for Leaf 2020 Plus EVSE

Okay. Well it sounds like it might just be better to stick with my original plan and have someone install a new outlet and breaker. I'm fine with using the Nissan OEM since it can do both 120V240V charging and I don't think it makes sense to buy new equipment if its not much more just to have...

Dryer Plug Adapter for Leaf 2020 Plus EVSE

I've been looking into getting a outlet installed in my garage so I can start charging at level 2 speed but the contractor I was talking to suggested I use the dryer plug and just get an adapter. I tried getting one but it's not working. It has a green cable coming out of it that is supposed to...

Dealership gives up on TCU, suggests I replace the unit?

It sucks when the TCU doesn't work. In my case I was lucky, it just needed to be restarted, so I didn't have to pay to have it fixed. In the 2013 Leaf my mom has, I had the TCU upgraded and that was $200. I wouldn't pay more than that. So, you might as well wait a couple of years for when AT&T...

Dealership gives up on TCU, suggests I replace the unit?

Yeah that's pretty ridiculous. I didn't have to pay anything to have my TCU restarted. Unless there is something wrong with the unit and it has to replace it, shouldn't cost anything!

Dealership gives up on TCU, suggests I replace the unit?

I recently got a used 2016 SL and the TCU didn’t work. Thankfully the dealership nearby was able to fix it. I’m my case, they probably disconnected the 12v accessory battery to reset it. Is there another dealer you could go to and get a second opinion?

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

Just got my fourth leaf, a 2016 SL in black. I'm loving it so far. It's been crazy driving it because I'm not used to the increased range. I still remember my 2011 SL! My Leaf has lost 2 capacity bars so I am trying to see if I can lose 2 more over the next 4 years for a free battery...

2018 leaf analog speedometer . Whadayathink?

Nice! I figured that would include a digital one. That makes me happy

2018 leaf analog speedometer . Whadayathink?

I'm disappointed, but if there is an option to add a digital speedometer, than it won't be so bad. I've been driving a car with an analog speedometer for work, so I'm getting used to it again. But, still prefer a digital one. That being said, since I don't know what the new car is like to drive...

Finally 2018 nisan leaf 150mi range

After looking at the pictures and reading up on the car, I'm satisfied with the exterior. I was a little worried I'd miss the old style, but I think the new look still reminds me of of the old style while making it look more like a traditional car. Not too crazy about having an analog...

Degradation not related to charge cycles?

I agree powersurge. My 2013 Leaf had a missing bar when I got it at about 36k miles. It works for me still and I'm happy I have the 80% charge option. I also usually trickle charge it as that fits my current needs. If I had a newer Leaf, I'd do the same as you.
