Thanks. I got it now. I plan to do this more as a home electricity backup in case PG&E has an outage so I can run my essential appliances. But the ability to take the show on the road is an added bonus. :)
Thanks, that helps. I believe the inverter is not actually connected in the picture you show. Is that correct?
It seems you always leave one end of the Anderson connector attached to your battery then you plug in the inverter when needed. It that correct?
Can you elaborate on the 200 amp quick connect/disconnect? Is this connecting to the battery? Is there an off-the-shelf connector for this at auto parts store? I have been meaning to create this kind of setup. Thanks.
I recently accepted Nissan's offer to buy back my 2016, and immediately purchased a 2021 Leaf Plus. I think they treated me very fairly and have no complaints. Maybe some owners have not had such a good experience, but overall I think Nissan is acting in good faith. For me, that fosters some...
I am curious why you think using the 120V charger is not recommended. I thought it was ideal because it doesn't heat up the battery, especially in the summer. Based on your statement of not going below 50% charge, it shouldn't take that long to charge on 120V.
BTW, I had a black 2013 SV until...
I am thinking of upgrading my 2016 30KWh Leaf to a Leaf Plus. I am very familiar with the 1st gen Leafs. I have LSP and know what to look for to identify problems. I have not heard of as many battery issues with the 62KWh batteries. I think I read that the batteries have a balancing process...
Thanks! I had no idea it was adjustable. I pressed and held the open/tilt button until it beeped and moved to the next preset angle. I just learned something! :D
I just bought a 2016 SL that does NOT have the premium package. I can open and close the display to access the CD drawer, but it doesn't quite close all the way. When I power off the car, it does close all the way. I have never seen a Leaf do this. I know the display is slightly different...
There would probably be additional cost to add WiFi because they would need to add wireless radios for WiFi, which are different from the radios 3G/4G/5G radios. My 2016 only has the 3G radio, which is ridiculous. How could they still be using a 3G radio in 2016? I refuse to pay for an...
Yes, I drove about 5 miles at about 30 MPH before jumping on the highway where I was driving 60 MPH. The outside temp was not that cold, about 50 degrees. The highway was uphill, gaining about 1000 ft in elevation over 12 miles. I did not have the heater on. I don't often drive that uphill...
Thanks mn4az and LeftieBiker. That is a good clarification. I wasn't expecting to hear 4-6 months. That changes the timing on going for the new battery. I will do it much sooner. I just hope that what happened today was an anomaly because it would be difficult to deal with that for 4-6 months.
I had a similar experience today with my 2016 30kWh 8 capacity bar Leaf today. Temperature was about 50 F, so not cold at all. I started with 10 charge bars (about 14 kWh, according to LSP). Going 60 mph on the highway, slightly uphill but nothing crazy. The car started dropping charge bars...
