Thoughts on picking the interior color?

I've got a 9 year old and 6 year old twins. I leased a 2013 SL with black leather. It's not the daily transport for the kids, we have a minivan for that, but it does get used a lot to take the kids to football practice, wrestling, gymnastics, etc... To me, black leather is the only way to go...

    Nissan Leaf Accidents

It wouldn't make any sense from the insurance perspective. In that scenario, as the insurance company I'm now going to pay $25,000 (just using a round number) to total a car that could be repaired for $7000 (again, just making up a number). Yes, I'll get some money back when I sell it at a...

    BMW i3 vs Leaf

Since the i3 is a BMW, I'd be highly concerned about build quality.

What's the thing you hate most about your Leaf?

Considering that I leased the car to be an efficient commuter that stands out from the common Camry, I can't say I have a lot of real complaints about how it goes about its' mission. I knew about battery issues before I leased it, and it won't ever be a problem for me. If I had to nitpick, I'd...

    Nissan Leaf Accidents

I can tell you that the LEAF is not alone in part availability issues, so it's not a Nissan thing. Whenever I see a Prius accident, I always tell my staff to be prepared for a very long process. Some of their parts are unicorns. There are other cars that have part availability issues as well...

Oil Companies Preemtive Strike The EV

This. They have a product to sell and want to try to make it look appealing to their customers. I can't say for sure what their intent was, but I doubt it was a plot to attack EVs. If they wanted to attack EVs, I'd bet the ad would be more direct. Don't read too far into it.

Power Inverter and Space Heater in Leaf

I was thinking about getting one of these, but don't know how much it will deplete the range as compared to running the heater. Anyone have any guesses?

    Winter is hard on range!

An hour before departure? Will it stay on that long? I have mine set to preheat, but it seems like it heats the cabin then shuts off?

Elio motors 3 wheel car vs Nissan leaf?

Call it covered motorcycle, 3 wheeled car, tadpole, whatever you want. It's definitely got my interest. I've been following the Elio story since I first heard about it early this past summer. I'm highly intruiged. Haven't put a deposit down yet, but am so very tempted. Production will be...

Range in cold weather (not Bad driving 35-45 MPH )

I don't know how some of you guys are getting 4.5+/kwh. I'm struggling to reach 4. Yes, I checked tire pressure and have all set around 40psi. My commute is 25 miles each way, mostly flat. 90% country road crusing at 45-50mph, the other 10% is light traffic city driving. I charge to 100%...

Ice storm: Charging the LEAF battery to full

Forgive my ignorance, but how would you use the LEAF battery to power your home?

Steering Wheel Heater & Seat Heater suck

Very good to hear. Maybe you will be the first to have it fixed. As I documented earlier in the thread, I've been in touch with Nissan Customer care several times and have a long standing case with them, but have been told there is nothing they can/will do about it.

Poll: Is your Leaf your daily driver?

I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm in this camp and have these exact same thoughts. The LEAF is my daily driver, but I still use another vehicle sometimes. For example, today I have to drive a total of about 130 miles, so the LEAF stayed home. Days like this happen once every 3 or 4...

    Altima Owner Considering a Leaf

I'd really stay away from buying. Lease. There are a lot of threads on this board about it. I went into my researching thinking buy...I've traditionally been an anti-lease person. But I was quickly convinced leasing is the way to go here. No worries about long term battery degredation...

Steering Wheel Heater & Seat Heater suck

For what it's worth, I heard from Nissan yesterday. Same guy I spoke to when I contacted Nissan LEAF support the first time. He's a nice enough guy, but here's what I was told. I had e-mailed him this thread (Hi Jason, if you're reading this). 1. Nissan doesn't "recognize" this forum, as...

    Altima Owner Considering a Leaf

I'd pay off the loans first. I'm a total car nut, have had too many to count. I drove old beaters for the better part of 15+ years...part of it was due to paying off student loans, then when those are done I chose to spend disposable money on weekend toy cars. I finally decided to invest in a...

Didn't take the Leaf to the E.R.

Exactly. Hopefully, if you've done your homework and research before getting a LEAF, then those times will be infrequent at most. I've had my car 4 months now and have never had an issue like this yet. My lease is 2 years long, so if I have that issue once or twice over the entire term, not a...

Steering Wheel Heater & Seat Heater suck

That's the exact same thing the tech told me when I brought my LEAF to the dealer a few months back. They told me to wait until it was really cold outside then do it again and see what happens. Here's what happened when I left it on to see if it would cycle. It got hot quickly. Stayed that...

Didn't take the Leaf to the E.R.

Glad to hear you're OK, that's the most important thing. This issue has crossed my mind more than once. I've got 3 young kids in school and I work 25 miles from home. My wife's work is 50 miles from mine (we go 25 miles each in the opposite direction). If something were to happen while I'm...

    Winter is hard on range!

My car is still fairly new - '13 SL with about 4300 miles on it. Coldest I've driven it in my normal commute (so that I can eliminate other possible variables) is in about 20 degrees F. I definitely notice a decrease in range. In the summer, I'd return home with about 48-50% charge, based on...
