    Leafs Over Texas!

The leaf that I'm cancelling on (taken directly from order page) Nissan LEAF™ SL trim brilliant silver option added: quick charge port accessories added: carpeted mats cargo net door kick plate splash guards One (not all) of the reasons I'm cancelling is that the lease of a Volt makes much...

    Leafs Over Texas!

Wow, my dashboard says: estimated Delivery: Month of May 2011. (Dallas, TX order from Texas Nissan Grapevine) Too bad I am going to cancel my order... Going with the Volt instead.

    Volt vs Leaf lease

Just wanted to chime in to the OP. Thanks for that. I am cancelling my leaf order as well now. I also went to the Chevy dealership to put dibs on a volt for lease. Since I intend to lease for three years and then reassess the PHEV/Electric field, the volt makes a lot more sense for the...

    Nissan Addresses Slow LEAF Launch

Well, I'm at the point of considering to drop Nissan and go forward with the Volt. A lot of things they've done are upsetting me bit by bit.... [begin rant] 1) Delivery dates not clear and keep pushing out further 2) SL vs SV and quick charge port. If 85% of the people are ordering SL...

    XM radio subscription plans

I've tried the sampler in my current car, and I wouldn't listen to XM if it was free. The sound quality is terrible. If they upped the bitrate to the equivallent of 128+kpbs then maybe I might use it, but no way otherwise. The XM traffic was bad too- Many times when I was on the trial, I...

This is why I'll be leasing

http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/04/silicon-nanoscoops-to-combine-li-ions-energy-with-supercapacito/ News like this is exactly why I think it's better to lease. So much change going on in the electric power space, that the electric cars 36 months from now will be very different I'm sure...

battery warranty and charging unit choice

Sweet. I hope that Levitton gets their act together to push out their EVSE sooner than later. I do have a friend that works at GE though, and he may be able to get a better price/install... =)

battery warranty and charging unit choice

Based on the information here: http://nissan-leaf.net/2010/11/16/follow-up-nissan-leaf-battery-warranty/ "* Use of incompatible charging devices." Does this mean they could potentially be forcing us to use the EVSE they specify, or does this mean the warranty would not be affected as long as...

    Photo comparison

Hmm, is something not right in the superimposed image-- based on the specs, the leaf is taller than the versa... but the blended image depicts the versa taller than the leaf... hehe, another thing about the versa.. where's the tailpipe in that pic? lol

    Leafs Over Texas!

I would be interested... but what happens after the lease is done since it would be leased from out of state?

    Leafs Over Texas!

Wow... Is that with 15k or 12k miles? Maybe I should switch if I can get the same... Do you think they'll deliver to Dallas? I'm at $430/mo, 39 mo... 2430 down. QC port, floor mats, cargo net, kick panels, and splash guards, and 15k miles. Can you PM your sales guy's name and number?

    Photo comparison

Thanks for the picture comparison, and especially the superimposing. I was trying to get an idea of the size difference between the Versa and the leaf. I see Versas all of the time on the road, and keep wondering how close the Leaf looks in comparison to the Versa. It will be a little bit of...

    Photo comparison

Just curious-- does anybody have photos (or links to photos) with a side by side comparison with the Leaf parked beside a Versa (front, back, side, etc) Thanks!

    Free car washes

Hey Nissan-- you should offer free car washes at all your dealerships for any Nissan car purchased recently. Locally there are a few dealerships doing this already, and it's great! Sort of like "free advertising" that all your cars are clean.... :) It would bring people into the...

    SPX L2 EVSE 15A, Voltec

I noticed other sites showing that the finalized price quote Volt users have been getting for installation (basic) was about $1475... http://www.automobilemag.com/green/news/1010_2011_chevrolet_volt_home_charging_station_install/index.html Why are companies price gouging installation of these...

    Forum rename?

    Thanks for changing it :)

    Forum rename?

Just a suggestion-- Could we rename this forum to something a newbie would understand? I don't think EVSE would mean anything to a new person getting into electric cars. Perhaps we can call it: Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (charging equipment) Thoughts?

    Charging Stations

I believe it is J1772. It is from Coulomb Technologies: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/bus/stories/DN-halfpricebooks_21bus.ART.State.Edition1.27045b9.html

    Charging Stations

Wow, looks like a wave of charging stations starting to come in. Locally in Dallas they already have one at Half Price Books. I can forsee all Costco's having this in the near future too :) Don't they already have them in some California Costcos? Sounds like Best Buy is on the game plan...

drive electric tour 10/8-10/10 @ OC Auto Show (Anaheim)

Oh yuck. XM traffic is horrible (and pricey). I had it for three months on a free trial earlier this year and it missed out on so many jams and only covered some freeways. I compared it with Google maps, and Bing maps. Bing was most accurate, second place was Google, third was XM.
