    Leafers in Toronto

Hi there Toronto and Eastern Ontario Leafers; As the days go buy I smile a bit more as I look at the range displayed on my dash after a full charge at night with my L2 charger. When I got the car in January 2014 I was quickly into -25C weather and even my 65km drive to work and back could be a...

    I Want my (fast) DC!

I drive my LEAF in Ontario Canada. So far I have used it 98% for commuting to/from work and it works quite well for that. I have ventured out on longer trips (Kingston 85+85 km return) and more recently (Kitchener/Waterloo 300+300 km return). Although I was pleased to be able to do the trip and...

yellow brake caution light for b mode

Well... in that case, perhaps they should make the brake lights come on with low intensity, after all the car is decelerating. I think we will see accidents (rear enders) sooner or later when drivers following Leafs in B mode regeneration, suddenly see a car slowing down with no brake lights...

yellow brake caution light for b mode

I think that Nissan should add an extra yellow 'intermediate brake' light on both sides in the back that would come on when B mode regeneration is actively slowing the car. This will avoid rear end collisions from other drivers that may not detect the deceleration without regular brake lights...

    Power display

Check out my web page http://verobel.net/Leaf2013.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and scroll down to near bottom. There you will see a hand sketch of a better energy usage graph I propose. The idea is that you would program the distance, velocity profile and average...

    Steering Wheel Controls...

I think another button should be added on the right side to allow driver to toggle the climate control on/off. That is done often in cold temperatures and it is a bit unsafe to have to keep reaching over to center console to do this while driving.

Google Map of LEAFs in Canada

I have a 2013 Pearl White Leaf SL with the GE Wattstation charger. My location is Wellington, Ontario K0K 3L0. I have been driving it since January 9, 2014 mostly in cold weather so far. Just turned over 2000km. You can find my charger listed on PlugShare.com John

    Winter tires, yay or nay?

Many people do not appreciate the extra 700lb load you are carrying for the LIPO batteries in the LEAF. When accelerating it works against you (costs energy) when coasting in regen mode it works for you. When driving on slippery winter roads it works for you by providing extra traction. 700 lb...

Cold weather range significantly less than it should be?

I recently received my 2013 Leaf and have been driving in almost exclusively cold conditions 0C down to -29C. The link below details many of my observations and some suggestions for improvement. If you are planning to operate in cold conditions you should read this and perhaps be prepared to...

Proposal For an Improved Energy Usage Display in CarWings

Hi Nissan and Fellow Owners; http://verobel.net/Leaf2013.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The file above is a sketch of what I think would be a good Display for Nissan Leaf drivers. It show a typical return trip profile (me commuting to work) of about 62 km. You can see that...
