Here it is... not rocket science - and there was even room for a cord extension for my xmas lights.

I'll try to post a pic when I get home... But I solved this with a long 2" x 1/2" strip of wood (about 8'). Should cost less than about $3 on your local hardware store. I just cut the strip about 1" (or the width of your cable) shorter than the length of my garage door, laid it on the floor...

I don't mind the design... but for the first few weeks it seemed counterintuitive that "R" was towards the front, and "D" was towards the back.

To the OP... (sorry I haven't read the 7 pages of thread yet) Savings will really depend on how much you pay for electricity. And if you pay a lot for it, then yes, it might not make too much sense to go with LEAF vs Prius. Allow me to do some math... I'm just going to use EPA numbers, and...

I live in the "burbs" - If you are coming to SF, and that doesn't happen often, don't stay in the burbs. Get the real experience and stay in the City. You don't have to stay in pricey SOMA/financial district, which is where Moscone is, you can go for a more affordable stay in the hip Mission...

ohh... and remember, while SF is California - it's not sunny like San Diego or LA. So dress in layers, and bring light coats/jackets.

Fly to SFO (yes OAK has access to BART as well, but SFO is better IMO) -And no do not fly to LAX! LA is not SF. :) If you are in a budget, have you checked out airbnb - It's the best way to get a "local" feeling stay. I have gotten only great experiences in airbnb and hardly stay at hotels now...
