Charging in Parking Deck off normal 120v outlet sufficient?

...and make sure you plug into an outlet that has its own 15amp breaker, and ensure it's not an old outlet. Best to install a nice, new industrial grade outlet...not expensive to do, and worth it.

Charging in Parking Deck off normal 120v outlet sufficient?

You can certainly use an extension cord - I've done it many times with my 2015 Leaf. You need to buy yourself a high quality cord made with at least 12 gauge conductors, and maybe even 10 gauge if you're going to use it every day. It also needs a heavy duty jacket to withstand being walked on...

Some people will never get it...

Just wanted to share frustrating experience I had this week... There's a couple I know that own two big Mercedes SUVs. He commutes around 40 miles round trip to work each day, and she drives around town dropping their 2 kids at school and hitting the local shopping malls. Once in a while they...

Nissan Leaf EVSE upgrade - Reviews? Reliable?

For the first 2 months of Leaf ownership, we got by pretty well with the supplied EVSE at 120v. As we became more comfortable with the car we've started pushing its limits a little more, leaving the van parked as much as we can. After a few times of not being able to charge the car back up after...

    Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph/Cambridge Leafs

Hello Canadian Leafers, I'm now about 1500km into my first Leaf, and I think it's fantastic so far. Greg Vann Nissan in Cambridge was great to deal with; 3 of their employees own Leafs, so they're really helpful and knowledgeable, which has got me off to a great start. My previous car was a...

What do I need to properly log data (new 2015 Leaf)?

Thanks for the responses... I'll be getting a red one, an SV. The only option is a slight tint to the rear windows. I think the packages and options are much simpler in Canada, and the cars are certainly more expensive here. A 4-year lease is costing me around $430/month including taxes and...

What do I need to properly log data (new 2015 Leaf)?

I'm taking delivery of a 2015 Leaf SV next week...kind of excited! My question is, what software/hardware would I need to log data like SOC, range, etc. (bear with me...I've never done this sort of thing before)? Many people seem to say the Carwings thing is lack-luster for this purpose, and...

    Looking for some encouragement...

Yes, we could certainly spend a few minutes charging after work before hockey, etc. Sounds like it might work...

    Looking for some encouragement...

Thank you all very much for the replies! I should clarify that 75 miles is the most we'd drive in a day, with the average being more like 40-50 miles. Her round-trip commute itself is actually only 20 miles, so the other stuff is discretionary (kids to hockey, piano lessons, groceries, church...

    Looking for some encouragement...

Hello Leaf gurus, I am on the cusp of buying a Leaf and have been doing my due diligence in the way of research, and have been reading this website with interest. What is somewhat disturbing is that a heck of a lot of the discourse on this forum is quite negative toward the Leaf, largely...
