After 2 weeks with a Bolt, here's everything I miss about the Leaf

I'm 5'10", medium build, and I don't find the Bolt cramped at all. In fact, to me, it feels more roomy than the Leaf did. It is 11 inches shorter, but it basically feels like the same size car, with more interior space because it's taller. Regarding the "narrow seats", it's the cushions on...

After 2 weeks with a Bolt, here's everything I miss about the Leaf

In 3 years, when I'm on the Bolt forum bragging about having 500 miles more range than I'll ever need in whatever car I move on to next, you'll be able to buy the lease returns cheap  I seriously doubt anyone will be exhibiting symptoms of range envy at that point.

The best thing to happen in my life since surfing cloud break

After 2 weeks with a Bolt, here's everything I miss about the Leaf

My total lease payment (tax and all) is $230/mo, and there was no out-of-pocket cost for me to drive off the lot.

The specific purpose is entertainment  Oh, and to point out how much technology has advanced in the last 3 years.

After 2 weeks with a Bolt, here's everything I miss about the Leaf

I can't speak to the measurements, but my observation is that the Bolt looks far less likely to hit the ground on pot holes. It's like the tires stick out from the rims more and would cover the rims or something. I suppose it might be because the Leaf I had used hub caps rather than rims...

After 2 weeks with a Bolt, here's everything I miss about the Leaf

Leaf bashing was actually my intention. I'm just having fun with you guys. Some of you are taking me too seriously. Obviously technology has moved considerably in the last 3 years, which was the point of leasing, rather than buying. Yes, I'm on the Bolt forum as well. The most important...

After 2 weeks with a Bolt, here's everything I miss about the Leaf

I miss not knowing if I’ll have enough juice to make it home. I miss knowing the exact location of every charge station in my area. I miss driving <55mph on an empty freeway after working late, for fear that I won’t make it home if I go any faster. I miss relying on heated seats to keep me...

After 2 weeks with a Bolt, here's everything I miss about the Leaf

My lease payment is 15% less than when I was leasing the Leaf.

showed up at work with 190 miles of range!

I got the base model, with the quick charge upgrade option. That's the only upgrade. I don't expect to use it, but it's nice to have. It's actually pretty standard for the models dealerships order to have that upgrade. Everyone seems to want it.

showed up at work with 190 miles of range!

I got the cloth interior. My understanding is that the leather seating material compresses the padding a bit too much for some people's liking. I just don't like leather for a daily, commuter car, personally. I sat in both. The seats were fine either way, but I preferred the cloth. I'm not...

Buyout my 2015 LEAF or return it?

I turned in my leased Leaf over the weekend with 66 miles over my 12K/year, and was not charged for anything... no fee, no wear and tear, no nothing. The guy told me there was $500 leeway towards miles, repairs, etc, and that I was well within the tolerance or whatever, so I just handed in the...

Uh, not sure what you heard, but there's no issue with the seats.

showed up at work with 190 miles of range!

A funny thing happened to me this morning. I showed up at work, looked at the dash, and still had 190 miles of range left! Oh, well, I should mention, I just turned in my Leaf and leased a Chevy Bolt. Sayonara range anxiety! Oh, and I'm certainly not going to miss that feeling I...

EZ Charge == "No Charge, No Charge"

As I understand it, with a Tesla, you don't need anything special other than just a car to plug in. That's the way to do it. I look over at their array of maybe 10 or 12 chargers, mostly open, right across the street from where I eat lunch, and I think to myself, "self, I'll bet nobody driving...

EZ Charge == "No Charge, No Charge"

I complained a while back because I was charged at a Blink network charger that was listed as being part of the program. They credited my Blink account for like $15. Unfortunately, that is now a broken charger. It's nice though. Nobody is ever parked there :D The thing that bugs me about...
