Well, I went and did it... I actually was deciding to not spend so much and started to sign up for the 2018 Leaf pre-order... Got all registered and went to the configuration page.. Now, I have a 120 mile round trip commute, so the 150 was probably OK, but close.. (especially in winter, etc)...

I just wish they were more serious now.. Trying to decide what to do to replace my Leaf. My goal is a car that will do my commute to work and back on a charge. That's not the Ioniq.. It's the Bolt for sure.. Teslas (although I don't personally like the look. They are nice.. Just not my style)...

I don't think we'll see the SC network that Tesla runs open to other cars.. But for the sake of the discussion, a way around the issue of overcrowding might be time limits. You could say that each car gets 1 stop at a particular SC site per day (or every 4 hours, or something) and the max time...

I QC 3 times a day with my 2012 Leaf with mostly highway speeds (65). In the PNW tho, so it is at least cooler. Down 2 bars, but that's about right for the age of the battery.. desiv

For me, the math is on the edge.. I "need" 120 miles. That's my round trip commute. I told my wife I'd upgrade from my current Leaf (which I charge often now) when something affordable that can get me to work AND back was available. The Bolt can do that, although not sure I consider $40k...
