Gen 2 LED turn signals, reverse lights, and rear cargo area bulb

I also replaced the dome light in the middle of the roof on my S model. She bulb looked like a cylinder with contacts on both ends and it really brightened things up. Note it's possible your SL doesn't really have a dome light but rather 2 lights by the rearview mirror? Yes LEDs are the way to go!

    Gen 2 rear cup holder

Nice, I'd be purchasing one if I still had my Leaf. I really dislike door cup holders and on my Leafs I ended up purchasing 2 single fold-up cup holders I mounted to the back of the storage cubby but was never really satisfied with it and what you show looks much nicer.

How to , what where's & so on.. yep another Newbie Here!........Hello from South Of England!

I think it's a 9-bar battery or 65%?? the capacity of new. New you could probably expect 70 miles of range, with 9 bars you are doing good to get 52 miles. Unfortunately the '11 models didn't have a very handy SOC% display but you could add it with a smartphone and the Leafspy app. The '11 model...

2020 Leaf Rear Window Defroster Offline

Nice fix  You must have a higher-wattage soldering iron? Can't see that a small one would have enough heat to do what you did. Thanks for documenting your repair with some nice photos! I wonder what a dealer would have done......replace the whole rear glass  you saved yourself some...

    EVSE 200V 15A - Nissan Leaf 2017

There used to be a free/lite version(not sure if it's still available) but it lacked many of the handy things of the paid version. Still for just getting basic battery info or testing to see if your OBDII adapter worked, it would be adequate for that.

I'd also strongly suggest upping your normal tire pressure. Many around here(including myself) find running their tires with a higher pressure than Nissan recommends. After originally running my pressures at what Nissan suggested and my first set of Ecopias wore out after <20k miles I upped my...

Part Wanted Need the Little charger adaptor for 240-120 volt charger

Cornbinder89 is correct. A normal 120v to 240v RV adapter will put the same 120v leg on both the hot sides of a 240v plug, OK for most RV use(except of course a 240v device in the RV) but will give 0 volts to an EVSE as an EVSE doesn't use a neutral, A EVSE would want the neutral on one of the...

Part Wanted Need the Little charger adaptor for 240-120 volt charger

As I noted and gave links to in post 8 of this seemingly never-ending thread, this type of RV adapter will NOT work for an EV, you need a specific EV adapter as an RV adapter will give you 0 volts to the EVSE. The op needs to purchase an EV adapter or the OEM and be done with it :) As pointed...

Heater do not work below -20 C.

Bad resistive heater, below the temp in which the heatpump will work. I've ran my Leafs in temps around -20F and it's heated just fine, using resistive heat.

Clunk/Popping noise from front end - SOLVED (User error)

My new '13 also had various clunking noises that would come from the front end, after only 40k!!! miles. I sold it with 60k and the clunking wasn't any worse and luckily the buyer didn't notice it. It's one reason I'd not purchase another Nissan and went back to Toyota where I never had such...

Part Wanted Need the Little charger adaptor for 240-120 volt charger

I'm OK with most adapters but am quite scared my 14-50 plug to 5-15 female(240v on a 120v outlet) will fall into the wrong hands. I immediately made a label and affixed to the adapter, for EVSE use only! as while it works nice for a multi-voltage EVSE it would fry a 120v only device plugged into...

How much power does it take to start a Leaf from the 12V Battery

You are responding to a post over 3 years old! Companies change where things are made all the time. My first Optima yellow top AGM purchased maybe 7 years ago?? was made in the USA, my second for my other Leaf 5 years ago was made in MEXICO! Ingersoll Rand is another company notorious for...

Why Have 2022 Used LEAFs Dropped by $10k in Price in the Past One Year?

I sold both my '13 and '12 towards the end of last year for $6k and $4k respectively and both were low miles in very good condition, well the '12 was down to 8 bars and the '13 11 bars but otherwise I'd say a strong very good condition on both. Yes it pained me to sell them so low and not much...

An influx of Chinese cars is terrifying the West

Actually I believe that would be the Bolt and it was too cheap for me, which is one of the reasons I went with a Leaf. I'm not against cheap transportation, heck my first "new" car was a '94 Geo Metro 5-door with AC and nothing else. It was a decent vehicle and a real workhorse and at $8500 it...

    Missing Blinker Sound

New leaf 2021 owner (charger type, charging, mobile app)

    1. Thats a L2 as it's 240v but at 16a it's about 1/2 the max 27.5A as your Leaf is capable of, but a heck of a lot better than 12A @ 120v which is what a OEM Leaf EVSE maxes out at. 2. I don't believe so but I'll let someone more familiar with apps and CA answer you.

    EVSE 200V 15A - Nissan Leaf 2017

Note your picture looks to be a 1st gen Leaf('11 and '12) while the photos from Shameem looks to be a '13 and later Leaf.

    EVSE 200V 15A - Nissan Leaf 2017

I don't have that exact EVSE but do have a Zencar adjustable EVSE and it's worked great for years. I purchased mine directly from the mfg. in China as did at least one other member here on MNL and I believe he's quite happy with his as well.

    Silencing the ZE1

Actually other than the sounds, we really like the Rav4 Prime as we did our '07 Prius before it, which also had lots of annoying sounds but I figured out how to disable most :p We had much better luck reliability-wise with our Toyotas than either of the Leafs we've sold, in fact, while we...
