Electrician says an L2 EVSE install is not possible! :(

You might have luck exploring the concept of a modern day Miser Switch. I have one of these installed and operating wonderfully in a fully-electric coach house (70 amp main breaker on the panel): https://dcc.technology/

Will a used 2015 leaf suit my needs

When I was shopping at North Shore Kia for my 2013, I brought my ODBII reader with me and went through each Leaf they had on the lot. They were fascinated, told me they were going to get a reader of their own; who knows if they did. Its the modern equivalent of kicking the tires... go for it...

Looking for ideas on stand alone outside post for EVSE.

I just completed the install for a new CP Home outside my house. The EVSE is mounted on an 8x8, using a 'hidden post mount' bracket that's bolted into concrete. Not sure if this link will work; unsure how to post images directly on this forum: https://photos.app.goo.gl/df2XidZKVEympaiR2

This is super fun to follow along with. Thanks for sharing!

    EVSE rebates for BC residents

Thanks for the heads-up! This tipped me over the edge; I've got a Chargepoint Home on the way now.

    Outdoor Post Mount?

Thanks for the replies! I had assumed simplest is best and should go with a 4x4 post. I was worried about the '10 years from now' durability of that post, though. The plastic 4x4 idea is a good one! I'll also check out Clipper Creek's solutions. I assume weather protection (a lid/rain cover...

    Outdoor Post Mount?

Hi folks, I'm wondering if any of us have ideas/photos they can share for private bollard/post-mounted home EVSE solutions? My situation is this: -- EVSE to be located on private property, at 'front' of private parking stall -- EVSE will likely be ChargePoint Home -- underground conduit in...

MyEVStats.com - Stats Tracker for Leafs

Quick question (hopefully not already asked and no answered): Are any LeafSpy config changes required if one were to move their OBD2 reader to another Leaf? Will the original Leaf’s data (in myevstats) get corrupted in any way? Thanks again for this fantastic service!

    USA >Canada Leafs

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that any Leafs that were brought into Canada from the USA will not be able to have a battery swap done in Canada? They'll have to return to the USA to have the battery swap carried out?

MyEVStats.com - Stats Tracker for Leafs

Just checking in... I'm lucky vehicle #13 in the database! I'm seeing a possible data confusion issue in the Avg Battery Temperature field... my temp data is recorded in Celsius, whereas the majority of the other vehicles appear to be using Fahrenheit. My pack temp is going to look...

    12v Battery Charging on L1?

Thank you! Hopefully that did it!

    12v Battery Charging on L1?

My first post indicates that my car is a ‘13. I’ll add it to my signature, though, once I figure out how!

    12v Battery Charging on L1?

Thanks! That’s great info. So my daily L1 charge cycles are likely giving the 12v battery some good conditioning time. I’ll still use a battery tender once a month or so, but will have less stress knowing that my L1 charges are helping out!

    12v Battery Charging on L1?

Hi folks, So sorry if this is covered here in the forum already; did my best on the search function to find the info I’m asking here, but it’s likely “my best” is a pitiful effort... I’m curious as to if the 12v battery charges (or at least floats) on L1. I trickle charge my ‘13 at work for...

ChargePoint Takes over GE EV Network

As the title says... https://www.chargepoint.com/about/news/chargepoint-takes-over-management-ges-electric-vehicle-charging-network/ Given the poor GE app, I'm rather pleased with this announcement. Any downsides I'm overlooking?

    Damp Driver's Footwell Carpet

Absolutely amazing. You were both spot on; it appears the A/C condensate hose was never attached. Thank you so much! Fingers crossed the footwell dries up and stays dry from his point on. I'll take better advantage of the search function next time! Thanks again.

    Damp Driver's Footwell Carpet

Hi folks, As the title says, I've noticed that my new-to-me '13 Leaf has a tendency to end up with a damp driver's side footwell now and then. Seems to correlate with when it rains; unsure if I can make the same happen when I wash the car. As far as I can tell, just the flat footwell is wet...

Curiosity Only - Near-100% Charging Behaviour

Hi folks, During a recent ChargePoint charging session (in which I needed a battery level near to 100% at the end), I noticed some interesting behaviour by the EVSE close to the end of the charge. It seems like the EVSE would ramp down to near zero amps, then up for a bit, then back down...

Charging issue, electric panel is full, Load miser or $$$

Thanks for this as well! In essence, this is a load miser, though it appears they've updated the technology (from when it was initially used in the 1940's/1950's) to include an optional J1772 connector. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any CSA/UL certifications listed on the site, which makes me...
