Owners' comparison Tesla Model 3 vs NIssan Leaf

I loved my Leaf. It was fresh, unique, innovative, efficient. I feel the same way about my M3, but it's a far better car as it should be - much newer and 30% more expensive. To deny that is delusional I don't have to hate one to love the other. Now, about that "not a car"... I can assure...

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

I have to asked about "badq45t", as in you had a bad Infinity Q45t ?

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

^ totally agree. The beach mansion probably had a tad bit more margin than the M3, but in both cases they are above baseline. Funny thing is I actually do know people that have have downgraded their main house for a beach house. (disclaimer - I do not own a 2nd house). Moving on, you...

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

1- It would be so, so cruel to give you 62kWh but no QC. Same for frequent, sustained rapid charging. 2 - If one really believes that the resell difference will make up the initial cost + opportunity loss, then taking the lesser option is actually a bigger investment and more risky. I know...

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

Nissan announced the Leaf + tonight. More than just a battery, and will be in all trim levels. No cooling specs, but warranty still ok. Good showing I think. Keeping my Model 3.

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

I agree with everything you said, but add that in all honesty the difference between Leaf and Model 3 is WAY, W-A-Y more than battery cooling. I won't bore you, just go drive one and see. I loved my Leaf and it's sad, Nissan should be wildly upping their game. Tesla already outsells all of...

    Leaf Vampire Drain?

heh heh, you're right. I'm more familiar with the old truck at the barn that we have to start every now and then. Today was beautiful, 55F, sunny, breezy.. perfect.

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

Once you get past the car itself, everything else is a crap shoot. I'm lucky to have a Tesla service center 5 miles from my house. They also provide roadside service. I don't think there are any independent shops near me. Fortunately the recommended service is just brake fluid at 25k miles...

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

Stereo is incredibly awesome. All cars require the 'premium interior' package. I too was an 80s Honda fanboy. How about a high-power, full electric CRZ ? (Nissan - hint - 240Z-E !)

    Leaf Vampire Drain?

It's pretty funny that you cannot just go outside every few days and 'start' the car the way you would an ICE. I guess that equates to plugging it in. Are you doing that ?

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

Yean, I have to say that M3 is a lot more car / dollar. There is a reasonable chance that in 5 years the M3 will be worth more than $10K more than a new Leaf, and one would be net better off. The wheels under the aero hubcaps do look good. Waiting for the center cap kit to come in. Being a...

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

This thread really blew up. I hope Nissan realizes what an opportunity they have that is slip sliding away. I don't mind. I got the mid range no options version for $46k which is basically $10k or so more than a new Leaf SV with tech and winter packages even with dealer discounts in my area...

    Leaf Vampire Drain?

I think the key point here is " once every 3 months". That would be a hell of a vacation. I went away for two weeks and left it at the airport and had no problem when I returned. 2015 Leaf S. If you have carwings i would hope/assume you can disable it if you suspect an issue, but it sounds...

Coach you are going to love it. The jump from ICE to BEV is the big one. After that its just details. Cheers.

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

Friends, today is the day I said goodbye to 2015 Leaf. 37962 miles. Leaf was a great car, reliable, fun, efficient, unique. Like an Apple car. However, Leaf was not a Model 3, which is exactly the car I always want - sedan, sleek, fast, roomy, innovative, interesting, electric. Telsa...

One Year in a Used 2015 Leaf - update : lost bar @ 36600 mi,.

I would not worry, mine did that last year, but mostly recovered in the summer. However, long ago I lived in Vero, and am amazed that your winter made much difference. And getting 5+ m/kWh is amazing - I am getting 4.3.

One Year in a Used 2015 Leaf - update : lost bar @ 36600 mi,.

Quick update. Finally lost that first bar this week at about 36600 mi. Of course this has no real effect since that is only 1% less than last week. SOH is 84.78%.
