Warning: Battery Replacement Cost Increase (now $8500)

I ended up selling my 2015 Leaf and purchased a 2019 Model 3 last week. My commute is 25 miles per day round trip but I wanted the luxury of taking the EV on an occasional road trip such as Portland to Seattle. My total came to $40200 + Tax for a 240 mile rated RWD Model 3. And I will get...

The driver who ran the red light is the real scumbag.

    $35k Model 3 now available

I would have considered it if I had not bought my 2015 used leaf. It turned out the leaf is just perfect for my commuting.

Progressive increased premium 100% after accident

I have Ameriprise (Costco) I pay $4600/ yr for 4 cars and 4 drivers. 2015 Leaf costs $1160/yr. I thought it was too expensive but if all parts have to be OEM, that explains why..

Quetions on charging control from the App

After I park in the garage I look at How much is left in the battery and input the percentage in the juice box app. And set the max, to 80% for example

Quetions on charging control from the App

I don't have that capability with my S trim. So I bought a Juicebox and use their app to set the percentage.

After 3 months with my used 2015 Leaf.

I have been very happy with my 2015 Leaf S that I bought last October. My favorite things are... 1. Being able to keep the autoclimate control on anytime without polluting air, making noise, wasting gas, or wearing out mechanical parts. 2. Steering wheel warmer. I don't have arthritis but my...

    NEMA 14-50 outlet, 240v, Permit?

my commute is only 24 miles each day. I have been charging from 110V outlet since I got my leaf last Oct. I called a couple of electricians but the scheduling didn't work out. I left it at that. I am too cheap to get a 240V outlet installed, I guess.

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

I agree. If someone is buying a loaded Accord and pays $44000, he is buying it as a luxury item to treat himself. BTW, I configured the top trim Accord and it came out to $39870 with destination charge included.

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

Any new EV is a luxury. I bought a used leaf because for my short daily commute it made sense money-wise. I traded in my ICE for a leaf and got money back because the ICE was worth more than the leaf. If I had to put cash into this purchase, I probably would not have done it.

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

If you have money to buy Tesla X D100, get a model 3 and buy a property. Easier said than done. BTW, Tesla emailed me and called today to sell me a Tesla. I already made a car purchase 3 months ago. :(

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

And S trim doesn't have heated seats, heated steering or QC port as standard. You will have to add option pkg or go up to SV trim ... Yes, I think $5000 is worth it to go with Tesla for TMS and super charger network. Also, over the air software update. I don't need the hatchback style for my...

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

That is an exciting news!! $35k - $1850 + 1000(destination charge) = $34150. That's in the ball park of all the other 200 Mile + range BEV existing or coming out. I would buy the Tesla SR because of the super charger network.

    Goodbye Leaf, Hello Model 3

A well known Youtuber said Tesla don't sell parts. So the parts catalog is out but you cannot buy new parts. You have to go to junkyard or eBay for parts.

    How accurate is the TPMS?

TPMS will alert when it is too low. I don't know what it is set at and I don't think I can adjust it. If I can adjust it I would set it at 39 psi and I would wait for the light to come on before checking the pressure. Since I set mine at 40 psi, I have to manually check it monthly to make sure...

I keep mine at 40psi and check every month.
