    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

Is the recall released yet? I paid out of pocket and I'm wondering if I can be refunded

    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

It will still allow you to drive normal otherwise. The brake will still somewhat work with increased effort and pedal travel. You will just look like an amateur

    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

Yes but he said he took it to midas and they said it provided 238 amps, which is more than enough. I doubt 12v is the issue. His intelligent brake controller failed just like many of us here and its an expensive fix. My abs actuator was replaced as well.

    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

I think the load test is irrelevant for electric vehicles. You only need a very small amount of amps to engage the HV coontactors and the computers. You just need good voltage. Load tests are for gas cars with starters. It tests cranking ability which is the hardest task for gas 12v batteries...

    Any updates to this?

Update: Nissan has agreed to cover 80% of the parts and labor for the brake control unit and abs actuator.

    Brake failure

still waiting on them. Apparently it is a 3 day review process and approval is on a case by case process. I was told monday or Tuesday the latest I will have a decision. I will keep everyone updated.

    Brake failure

So in theory replacing the brake controller and abs unit may not fix it if it is a can issue. Perhaps while the battery is disconnected while the parts are being replaced will be long enough to clear the bus problems...

    Brake failure

so press the brake while pushing start to get into ready mode, turn off, then press brake again and start to wind up in ready mode finally? Or do not use brakes and go into accessory, on, then off mode finally?

    Brake failure

Thank you, I will try this if the repair is not covered. From what i read even if the codes are cleared and car returns to normal operation it can still happen again in the future?. So if I can get free new parts, why not? Seems I accelerated the fault by having both a fleetcarma and obd2...

    Brake failure

Out of curiosity would a newer one work? 2016 and up dont seem to be affected because they come with a newer brake firmware correct? It even says that part was replaced by 46007-4NP3E on that parts page

    Brake failure

Unfortunately the car is at Nissan currently waiting to see if 877nogasev will cover some of the out of warranty repair costs. It's a 3 business day case by case review process. Seems like my brake controller is not even showing up on the version page. I did take a picture of unit's default...

TCU must have been an old code from when I pulled the radio fuse to fix carwings. After clearing everything here are the only faults:

    Brakes Fail upon Powering On

Add my car to the list. Dealer wants $4600 to replace brake controller and abs unit. I doubled my odds of brake failure by having a fleetcarma and obd2 bluetooth device connected at the same time with a y splitter cable. Waiting to hear back from Nissan owner services to see if they will help...

    Brake unit internal shorted!?

    What was the final outcome?

    Brake failure

I hope so. I reached out to fleetcarma as well as it was theur telematic obd2 device that I had left in all the time to participate in their reward program.
