on board charger speed 3.6 vs 6.6

Had some time to kill and looked it up. Other posters are right, there are 4 shared-by-2 stations that split power if both are on. https://www.plugshare.com/location/371552

Remote climate control on 2020 SL Plus

Hello All, if you pre-condition regularly (IE for commute) the LEAF (at least 2018 and on) has a Climate Timer control. Look at your manual from page 4-40 and on. The < and > and others here refer to the steering wheel left "D" pad.

    Charging problems

This might be obvious, but you did try the Timer override switch beside the Charge Port switch in the dash? Could be a software issue and Timer usually "learns" when you are home (if you have nav, the car can GPS search where it is). And I second the question from hradek, is your outside...

    short life of key-fob battery

Hi Folks, retired RF eng here. You are all correct in some way or another. Some answers to the questions / suppositions I read; 1) Yes the battery voltage is very important and yes you need a proper load to test a battery. That load during use is a weak transmitted RF signal much like a TV...

    LeafSpy

Might be obvious, but you did Bluetooth pair the dongle with your phone before starting the app? And per other posts, it is recommended to start only in this order - 1) power the dongle in the port (it's always powered) 2) turn on your car, full drive mode (not acc) and 3) then start the app...

    Key Fob Weirdness

Just to confirm, my 2018 SV also has 1 key slot in the drivers door.

    Rattling noise when driving

While the car is jacked, you may also want to confirm all air dam, air deflecters and under body covers are tight. Wind can cause plastic to 'flap'.

How often do you drive without ECO?

And to add to the stopping short, if you "feather" the e-pedal just before you fully stop, with ptactise you learn how to get a good spacing.

How often do you drive without ECO?

Yes, it does. Have a read here : https://www.nissan-global.com/EN/INNOVATION/TECHNOLOGY/ARCHIVE/E_PEDAL/

    Jack points

To add for gen2 Leaf. On the "mud guard" (the little body mould behind the front tire) you will find a down facing triangle. Look under the car at that point and see a body weld about 10-12 cm in, and hanging about 6mm. Then there will be 2 little notches in the weld. That is the lifting...

Three beeps and a tall, skinny yellow warning light

The pedestrian / vehicle in-front warning on my 2018 SV primarily displays a red flash warning on the left dash screen, and has sharp beeps. I understand the 3 blue lights in the dash are for the power & charge system? If this isnt happening it sounds more like a charger fault, not the front...

@cnad73 you mean "help" not hurt?

    When do you charge?

@docj - FWIW I have an '18 SV 40kWh as well, plus a 220V in my garage. I drive mostly around town and when down to 40-50% I charge for 2 hours, using the supplied Nissan charge cable. This Nissan version has no real controls that are variable, so at 16% charge rate per hour I get to 80-85%...

New 40kwh battery on 2018 SL, sudden charge drop at low load

Thanks for getting back. So you dont recommend unless a low SoC or balance issue. What range of cell values would you call normal? And yes I knew about the low tire pressure and the recirculate. I cant recall if that was on in the cold days. I do run with snows, and try for 38+ lbs.

New 40kwh battery on 2018 SL, sudden charge drop at low load

Hi Folks, @knightmb a question for you please (or any others that can answer). I have a 2018 LEAF SV with 33000 kms on it. I am in southern Ontario, garage parked every night, and usually charge L2 from 45% to 85% (sometimes 100) at home. My question is, Do you think the discharge and...

    key fob dead zone?

You can also check www.tvfool.com if there are any UHF TV transmitters in the area. Most fobs are in the 300 MHz range, but so are some UHF channels. If one is nearby (and maybe 'dirty' frequencies) it would absolutely drown out your fob mW power, and the car receiver. But I agree with msav...

How to limit charging to 80%

To give my point of view, I have a 40 kW 2018 LEAF. The car software has a graphic in the SoH section which details how much time from current SoC to 75% load (and it seems to default to the typical charge you do, mine says 6.6kW). I always add 15-20 minutes to that GOM value to get low 80s...
