    2019 Leaf battery overheating

I live in PA and don't know how it is in other states but personally i would not go for a Chademo adapter for my M3 for several reasons: 1. Tesla superchargers are way more available. Chademo is scarce. 2. Adapters are super expensive at tesla and i would not buy aftermarket. 3. Prices at EA are...

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

That seems correct from what I read. Apparently they did away with the throttling near full battery and although the Tesla has faster speeds, overall the e--Tron finishes faster. However, I supercharged 4 times in the 2 months we had it. It's a breeze. I'm not at all worried about whatever...

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

Indeed i was referring to 90 kW charge power not 90 kWh battery capacity. 90 kW is the "minimum" that a Tesla supercharges at. 150 kW is the max for M3 of this generation. Tesla is looking at technologies for even faster charging powers. The only time the power decreases is when its approaching...

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

Lol. I wonder which ones? I did make a mistake with the power per unit of mass: it's 170 W/kg. The other mistake is that one has to leave a space between numerals and the unit of measure. Anything else I missed?

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

As far as other people posted the Plus battery is packed even closer and does not do well in hot weather. I did look at the money I have to lay down for a plus version and decided I am better off with a M3. Not only I get 90kW and up to 150kW charge speed but the car has 170 kW/kg which gives...

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

OK, so I figured I should let you guys know what i've been doing in the meantime. Sorry for being offline for so long. Life... In short, we leased a Model 3. Dual Motor, Long Range (75kWh) I still have my leaf (2y lease ends May 2021) but we sold our Prius and now we are 100% gas-free. The...

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

It REALLY matters what that 14% is of. On my old 24kWh Leaf getting under 20% was stressful but 14% of a 100kWh battery is not something to worry about. On my new Leaf I have no issues until I get to 10% which is pretty much the same as 20% in the old leaf. I always found the usage of...

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

In other words a "golf cart". Agreed. Too bad, I was happy with the new design. Sounds like they really want to kill the Leaf. Just banking on some stale slogans of "best selling EV". Very similar with the fate of Prius. They made a name for it and then milked it until dry.

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

Haven't been on forum for a while. Today I did a trip to Harrisburg. Guess what... So the one-way distance is 100km. Outside temp was 25C in the am and now is 27C. Upon arrival in Harrisburg I had average temp 37C with max 39. Now I'm at an Evgo charger which put me at only 29 kW right on...

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

L1 charge will do more harm than good. I did not find L2 to heat up the battery but I don't have those OT.

I think he means it's dropping in bigger chunks than 0.1

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

I noticed something similar. At low highway speeds the battery does loose heat although very slow. I also DC charged and after jumping to 41C it returned eventually to 35C while OT was 24C and night time. However if I drive at turnpike speeds 120 km/h - 70 mph and DC charge I go on red as per...

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

LOL, yes I know.... I have a 1988 Ford Ranger which I keep just because I can fix everything on it myself. Rare bird!.

IEVS: Tesla Model 3 & Audi e-tron Charging At IONITY Side By Side: Video

I'm going to jump in and say that since it appears that Tesla has started to make Model 3 available for lease and just glancing at the lease numbers there is no doubt in my mind that the Leaf and Leaf Plus are not worth their price tag. By far. As for Audi I would definitely hold on until they...

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

In other words we need a heat pump not just a radiator. Makes sense because at some ambient temps (hi 30C) we already have throttling.

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

The Leaf already has a TMS for the stator and the onboard charger. Beats me why they did not add the battery pack to the circuit. But that's another topic. Just a crazy question: has anyone looked into removing the shield under the car? I wonder if the cooling improves.

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

This is outrageous! What false advertising is capable of... They make it sound like you can "keep plugging in and go" when in reality there is no such thing. I wonder where is @OrientExpress to tell us that none of what we experience is real and we should all bow to the preachings of the...

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

I plead guilty as charged! I should have done my research. To my defense: I had a lease on a 2016 Leaf that never had any issue othet than small battery. So when I saw a Leaf with bigger battery, I jumped in. Don't remind me....

    2019 Leaf battery overheating

My frustration is about what Nissan sells it to be. Which is not. Just like anything else you can make it work but it's not really there.
