Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

That's amazing. Congrats on getting a great battery. Is your Nissan Leaf a 2011?

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

Another update: I am now over 137,596 miles on my replacement battery and I lost my second Capacity Bar (10 out of 12). I'm still charging 100% during the week and 80% on the weekend. No issues making it to work and back on a single charge, but I usually only have one or two bars left...

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

Another update. I am now over 116,637 miles on my replacement battery and I finally lost my first Capacity Bar (11 out of 12). I'm still charging 100% during the week and 80% on the weekend. This is a dramatic difference in battery capacity from my original battery.

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

Another update. I am now over 100,000 miles and I STILL have 12 Capacity Bar's. The replacement battery is working great! I'm still charging 100% during the week and 80% on the weekend.

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

A quick update. (Details about my case are located in my edited first post.) Since my battery replacement on September 2015, I'm just over 86,000 miles and I haven't lost a capacity bar. I'm charging to 100% on the week day's and 80% on the weekend's.

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

The BBB decisions are considered the end of the arbitration process. The next step would a lawsuit. I was concerned that Nissan wouldn't honor the BBB decision to replace my battery, but they contacted me shortly after the decision and replaced the battery.

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

Before I purchased my 2011 Nissan Leaf. I did research about previous electric cars, went to the events to drive the vehicle, read the literature from Nissan about the cars expected performance, etc. I processed all that information and hypothesized, what is the possible worst case scenario to...

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

Remember that my initial claim was rejected and I had to Appeal. Be sure to state that your problem is not covered by the battery degradation that the Class Action Lawsuit covered. Below is my Comment regarding the decision, which I included in my Appeal: Thank you for attempting to assist me...

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

That's a good suggestion. It can be hard to find information easily. I'll update the post now.

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

Based on what I went through, here's what worked for me: 1. Get a service record for all four or more battery tests. 2. If you've taken your car into the dealer previously for battery degradation concerns, then get copies of those. *** This is important because it shows to the Arbitrator that...

Amended Settlement in Klee v. Nissan

I was at a monthly meeting of our local electric vehicle association held at ASU. One of our guest speakers is a expert battery technician from Nissan. He stated that he had done many repairs to the battery modules including cell replacements. I am saying, I believe they will replace my...

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

I received a response from the BBB which states, "There is nothing confidential about your case or the decision." If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, since I am happy to share or help in anyway.

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

From what I read in the decision, I'm not sure what I can and cannot share publicly. So I don't know if I can go into detail yet. I'm waiting on getting more information about what can be shared beyond what I've already posted.

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

Sorry for the delay in posting any updates, but I purposely hesitated to send any news about my Arbitration, since I didn't know if Nissan would honor the decision and whether there are any rules against me communicating the decision publicly. I succeeded in winning my Arbitration case against...

Amended Settlement in Klee v. Nissan

Regardless of what the legal agreement says, Individual cells are not being replaced. Their Nissan Leaf technician's are trained to only replace the entire battery pack and they are only given a full battery pack.

Thanks for the advice. I submitted my comments, so we'll see what happens next week.

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

The GOM was just one variable, but there was also Charge and Capacity Bar's that the technician accounted for, which I didn't mention above. I was just using those statements to make a point. I'm wondering if or what I should add to the report? For instance, should I say that I agree with the...

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

I had my 3rd party inspection completed. The technician concluded that there is a problem and he stated, "Suspect an Internal Battery Failure." The technician noted that the battery range was 45 when he started and immediately dropped 20 miles, after 10 miles of driving. No A/C was used and...

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

I contacted the BBB since I didn't get a call for the vehicle inspection. According to them, I should be getting a call this week. In other news, my Carpool co-worker who has almost the same commute that I do just lost his 4th bar. He's at 50,000 miles and will be going to the dealership this...

Early Adopter Mistake - Running on Empty

I didn't receive a call to setup the vehicle inspection appointment last week. I'm going to call and check on the status of the decision or if they still plan on performing the vehicle inspection.
