Does anyone have contact details for the EPA? I tried to find someone to talk to about the leaf rebate but did not get anywhere through the switchboard.

I got a letter from the EPA yesterday. I messed up the rebate for my Volt and they rejected the Leaf for now. The issue with the Volt form was that I accidentally put the Leaf's VIN on it (stupid). That is an easy fix. The Leaf was rejected because the numberplate that was on the form did not...

Did a longer trip in my volt this weekend. 44 miles range on the battery. That is only 10 miles less than I was getting in my Leaf (when it was cold). After that I drove 33 miles using 0.77 gallons which is almost 43 miles/gallon which is not bad. I drove from Chicago to Lake Geneva. The...

Some of those requirements are tough. Amazon does not give you an invoice showing the serial number of the unit. My electrician's invoice does not show the number of hours he worked nor his business license. I am not sure if he is willing to provide me a certification to show it is installed...

I thought they would be mailed out in April. Ah well, have to wait a little longer. Just found out that because of AMT my charger deduction is 0. At least I am getting the $7500 deduction for the car. I am not planning to come back to the Leaf any time soon. Although I am missing many things...

Yesterday I was driving back from the Morton Arboretum (in my Volt) and decided to stop at the first walgreens with charger on the way back only to find that it was fast charger only. It appeared to be on and working. Where were these when I was driving a leaf and nearly ran out of charge on...

I don't understand why this is an improvement? The car will still do the same number of miles as it did before. For me I could do something between 55 and 65 miles before I reached the low battery warning. I thought that the problem was that the GOM always was over optimistic. It used to show...

The 37000 was 26000 trade-in plus 11000 in rebates but she choose to simplify this to 37000. I only agree to be interviewed if she kept the tone of the article positive. I did not want to add to EV bashing. I think she largely kept her part of the bargain.

I was quoted in a Chicago tribune article today. http://www.chicagotribune.com/classified/automotive/autoshow/ct-biz-0209-electric-cars-20120209,0,2810862.story

The app does not allow you to specify energy prices. It must use a national average. It also is getting my mileage wrong and yesterday it was not updating for most of the day. I would not buy it until they fix some of the issues and add more functionality.

http://www.plugincars.com/2012-toyota-prius-plug-hybrid-fuel-economy-rating-95-mpge-111849.html I wonder if I should trade in my Volt for a Prius plug in?

So far I have seen between 26 and 29 miles range. I have not driven it to the point yet where the generator has to kick in. The range seems to drop accurately with the distance driven so if I start with 29 and drive 10 miles it will show 19 miles range left. I drive with the heating on but in...

I was too slow. Have not filed my Volt papers yet. I thought that I missed the dec 31 deadline. Did not realize that it was Jan 31.

I see your point. All you have to do is to pay $41000 for a Leaf and then you are getting a revenue of $3800 of the state so you made a quick -$37200 in profit. Hey what is that minus doing there? You must have tricked me. What revenue stream are you talking about?

Did anyone get a confirmation for submitting the state rebate forms?

I usually charge to 80% and as soon as we decided to take a longer trip I remotely enable charging but we left before it reached 100%. Was ok for this trip because I knew that the Leaf could easily do 32 miles on 11 bars. In weekends I charge to 100% but I had the 100% set for Friday and...

I am now a reluctant owner of a Chevrolet Volt. They gave me 26000 for the Leaf which is OK especially taken in account that this would reduce my sales tax on the new car. It would be the equivalent of selling the car to a private person for 28500. I am already missing my leaf. The Volt is a...

I spoke to Hal at McGrath Nissan but he was not able to make an offer at this point. No second hand market in Illinois at the moment. Forgot to ask about my oil change. It looks like I am stuck with the car and that is probably a good thing. Nobody said that it was easy to be green and living...

Thanks for your replies. It makes me feel a lot better knowing that other people are getting simular ranges. Maybe I panick a bit too much with the car reaches low battery warning. Having two small children in the car with freezing temperatures outside (and inside :D ) makes your worry a bit...
