Holley High Voltage at Sonoma Raceway July 8-10 2022

I signed up for the road course, super excited for this. Not sure I’ll join the wine country cruise due to work busy month but if I can get out will get the Leaf nice and shiny to represent!

    Mercedes EQB

Not bad, look forward to this and the EQE. Look forward to test driving it… I think someone at MBWorld was able to spec one with adjustable dampers. Would love to have compact EV like this with air suspension.

What does everyone recommend as a good phone holder?

https://www.proclipusa.com/ - these guys’ - no wobbly mount and no screws, double tape or suction cups. You can also keep your phone specific holder or replace just the phone piece if you change your phone

Holley High Voltage at Sonoma Raceway July 8-10 2022

https://www.holleyhighvoltage.com/registration/ Anyone going? I am thinking of the road course schedule to check my bucket list of driving at the Sonoma raceway! Granted not in a Ferrari 355 / 360 like i imagined as a teenager :) There is an EA chademo charger ( a few I think) at Sonoma town...

    2 ohm speakers

Thanks Drew - yeah I’m aware of the limitations without a sub. Our 2019 base beetle also doesn’t have a sub but the stereo is much stronger all around. I don’t like a ton of bass but can’t be worse than the already so so stock speakers :) I think the stock speakers might be larger than 6.5”...

    2 ohm speakers

I bought the Infinity 62ix speakers and returned them because while the mid and highs were amazing I lost a lot of bass compared to the stock speakers. Not sure if it’s because the infinity speakers are 2.5ohm while the stock speakers are 2ohm? I found these -...

License plate LED bulb replacement in 2018 2019 Leafs - how do you do it?

Thanks so much @MALEAF1 for the step by step. I just did this and installed the 4000K color Philips x-treme ultinon W5w / 194 wedge LED bulbs that I have used on various cars since 2014. Nice color upgrade and not too bright

2018 Leaf SV led fog upgrade?

I just replaced the dome light and the glove compartment. The glove compartment takes the tiny 74 Wedge bulbs and - I got the 4000K wedge from superbrightleds.com and it looks good. Matches nicely with the LED map lights. I did get their DE3175 4000k 4 SMD bulb as well for the dome light and...

    Nismo Leaf Project

Thank You for sharing! I’ve shortlisted some of the parts :) - new emblems front and rear - rain visors Maybe.. start buttons and AC vents Questions.. 1) does the rear emblem just stick to the car with adhesives? 2) the front emblem looks to stick to the car with a clip, can you just pop it...

    2023 US market Leaf

I wonder what the base Leaf looks like, particularly does it get equally spiffy looking wheel covers for the steelies?

    2019 Leaf S adding tweeter

Hey all I am thinking of getting components and putting tweeters in the stock a pillar location. Does anyone know if the S model has the “bracket” or harness behind the a pillar to be able to mount aftermarket tweeters?

    Possible Tire Pressure Mistake?

Thanks! Keeping the tires at 36 and checking often for now until I can swap the Ecopia and budget Sumitomos for proper Summer tires. Hopefully those will help with steering feel I do prefer slower response at highway speeds. the PHEV C class I had (that got me interested in EVs) before the...

    Possible Tire Pressure Mistake?

I too notice how twitchy the steering is on my 2019 Leaf. While checking the tire pressure, I noticed that the cold pressure was ~38-39 (probably from the last dealer service when it was still really cold) so I lowered it back to 36 as I do prefer a softer ride and I noticed that the car tracks...

    2023 US market Leaf

I think it looks great! I’m inspired by the zero-emissions-badge-no-more look, will apply to my 2019 Good to see it soldier on. I’m going on 2nd month with the Leaf and so far it’s up there as one of my favorite cars, reminds me of my 2013 Ford Focus, no frills, economical and great fun to drive.

    Wandering / twitchy steering

Thank You @GerryAZ. light and twitchy is how I would describe the steering of the Leaf with the Sumitomos up front and Ecopias at the back - all at 36psi. I’m going to be judgmental and assume that the sumitomo geodrives are also not exactly great tires given their nature as low price used car...

    Wandering / twitchy steering

Thanks! Good point, rear tires provide directional stability. Maybe I’ll move the sumitomos to the back and see how it drives before splurging on new tires

    Wandering / twitchy steering

2021 date code Sumitomo GeoDrive V rated tires up front and 4 year old original Ecopias in the back. The previous owner probably never rotated tires and the original Ecopias wore out on the front axle and the dealer put the apparently dealer only Sumitomo/Geodrive tires. I am eyeing the...

    Wandering / twitchy steering

Looks like it’s a feature of the Leaf? https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1115391_2018-nissan-leaf-electric-car-four-day-winter-road-trip-review I noticed the same with my 2019 Leaf S with just 14k miles. Strong cross winds also seem to make the wandering worse. Steering wheel seems...
