    Moving a Leaf to Europe...

    I was in a similar situation. Besides the navigation system (and carwings) not working, I also had to install a Rear fog lamp. Nebelschlussleuchte (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nebelschlussleuchte" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

    Nissan leaf war behind US and Europe

    I have the exact same problem. I have tried replacing the card and this does not work. :( I believe that Nissan sources the GPS System in North America from Clarion, and in Europe they use Bosch.

    The LEAF's top speed is...

    The 151 kph was from the speedometer (not an external gps). The latest update (delayed once or twice already) that I heard was that it would be available at 18 selected dealers in Germany in April this year. However, when we called Nissan last month they had not decided which 18 these would be!?!

    The LEAF's top speed is...

    I moved myself and the Leaf to Germany a couple of months ago. I'm the first one on the block with a Leaf. 8-)

    The LEAF's top speed is...

    I drove about 50 kilometers today at 151/152 kph (94mph). On flat ground the top 4 power balls were missing, but going up hlll it would allow some more power to keep at least 149 kph. Acceleration from 130 to 150 was also not bad and much better than I thought it would be.

    How do I get CARWINGS to work on a US car in Europe?

    Hey ladalane, I will likely be shipping my car to Germany in the future, so I'm anxious to hear how your import works. Besides carwings, I am wondering about the yellow daytime running lights. I think these need to be turned off in order to get certified... -Mike

    Newest Component Release Levels (firmware,version,software)

    I did it this morning (with the same result as TEG). You have to push the button sequence very quickly. -Mike

    SoCal -> Germany

    I contacted EVSE, and they confirmed that the paper is generic and it really is only 12A. Also, I'll e-mail CCSE when I determine/confirm the move date... -Mike

    SoCal -> Germany

    EVSE Upgrade included a paper with the charger that says ..."upgraded the unit to support a full 16 amp charge rate..." However, on closer inspection of the actual charger, they added a sticker that says "Input Voltage Auto-Adjust 100-240VAC - 12A - 50/60Hz". So, if this is true... I'm good...

    SoCal -> Germany

    Well, the move date is coming up and I'm still planning on taking the Leaf to Germany. It seems that I may be the first with a Leaf in Germany!?! I guess I'm trying to make up for not being the first here? So far, I have not had a lot of help from Nissan. Nissan North America first told me...

    Help, need navigation while driving

    Of course the simple backup to the nav system not working is to get my smart-phone out of my pocket and either enter the directions myself or explain to my wife how to do it (not sure which is less distracting). I don't have a good car mount, so the phone nav system requires a little more...

    Help, need navigation while driving

    It definitely seems like if they can lock it when moving over 5mph, they can unlock it when the passenger seat belt is buckled.

    Help, need navigation while driving

    Wow. If someone can help with this that would be amazing. It would be nice if the range was better, the car was cheaper, etc. but the only thing that makes me want to put my fist through the display is this navigation locking! :evil: The only time we ever seem to need the navigation is while...

    Can I buy an extra level 1 charger?

    How long would it take to charge at 240 volts and 12 amps?

    Prius or Smart car

    I had a Smart car for a few weeks in Europe as a rental car. It is bigger on the inside that you think it will be, and it handles and drives nicer than you think it could. However, in the states, the ability to park in very small spaces is not really that much of an advantage and it doesn't...

    SoCal -> Germany

    Wow. Not making this any easier yet... I've spent a couple of years in southern Germany in the past so I kinda know what I'm getting myself into except for the car. I'll do some more research and post what I find out. Are you sure that you have to stay in California for the entire 3-years...

    SoCal -> Germany

    It's a permanent position, so if I can survive the weather (it rains occasionally there) it could be much longer... Selling it here is an option, but I really love it, so it would be fun to take it.

    SoCal -> Germany

    I just accepted a job in Southern Germany starting in November. So, do I take the LEAF?!? What all do I need to consider (besides shipping)? How does the charger work in Germany? Will every outlet be a 220 Class II charge? Can I install seat heaters? Others? -Mike

    Didn't charge last night!?!

    I just double-checked the charging timer. Timer 1, every day. I don't remember if the blue lights blinked in sequence last night or not... I'll be sure and watch for this. My co-worker thought that perhaps Blink did a software push and that the unit did not properly reset? I now have...

    Didn't charge last night!?!

    I picked up my leaf on May 5th and painfully trickle charged for a few weeks while I waited for my "free" Blink to be installed. After about a week we set up the timers on the leaf. The blink is set to "Always charge immediately when I plug in". The car is set to charge between 12:01am and...
