    Ecopia EP422 tires suck

Thanks. I thought I had read the 91 version was a newer tire and thus perhaps better due to the weight of the Leaf.

    Ecopia EP422 tires suck

My 2011 Leaf is approaching 35k miles on the OEM Bridgestone Ecopia tires. Tread depth varies but they're down around 4/32 to 5/32, so I'll be in the market for new tires very soon. I don't drive too aggressively and I love the efficiency I get with these tires (around 5.0 mi/kwh on the dash)...

    Change in CarWings texts?

I have the same problem now. Each time I get a message it's from a different number, increasing sequentially by one. This is annoying as it creates a new thread/conversation instead of grouping them together as one.

Nissan To Install 500 More Quick Charge Stations

I live just a mile or so away from the new Whole Foods in Fremont, CA. I went there last weekend and can confirm the eVgo stations are there. Given this is the only station in the area, I'm not sure it's worth signing up for an access card.

A real-life cost of Leaf driving calculation in Bay Area

Make sure you read and understand the hours for peak, partial-peak, and off-peak. With the E9 rates, the peak and partial-peak hours are quite extensive. During those times you'll be paying more for your household electricity compared to the E1 rate you were probably on before. That's...

DIY Horn Upgrade Mod - Updated Jan 12

Finally decided to change the horn this weekend after nearly getting run off the road last week by some jerk in an SUV on his cell phone. Laid on the horn pretty heavy but I'm not sure he even heard it. To make matters worse, he was a solo driver changing into the carpool lane to bypass some...

    Volt Tops CR Ratings

One interesting thing is that the Leaf receives a CR overall score of 78 and the Volt has a score of 68. Yet somehow the Volt receives the CR Recommended checkmark while the Leaf does not.

    Volt Tops CR Ratings

Leaf does not appear in the rankings. Here is the disclaimer from the CR article. "Though the Volt’s high score reflects the excitement surrounding GM’s new electric/gasoline drivetrain, it comes with a caveat. The model had been in showrooms for only a few months when our survey was...

Looking for feedback on a 75mi trip

I think you'll be fine. I just took my longest trip in my Leaf last weekend. It was about 73-74 miles round trip from my house in Fremont to San Francisco via 880/80. I kept my speed around 60 and did not run any A/C, just the fan for ventilation. Some traffic on the bridge and in the city...

Charging at work. Yay or Nay?

A few weeks before I took delivery of my Leaf, my work installed three combo L1/L2 Chargepoint stations in the parking lot. My company is fairly large and they view it as promoting clean energy and wider adoption of EV's. Sorry to hear that many employers are not so accomodating. I've been...

    Window Tinting

@mxp - I'm also in Fremont and thinking about getting my windows tinted. You said some places gave you ridiculous quotes. Did you try Auto Mall Tint Specialists? I was thinking of going there for a quote. Thanks.

Poll: Did you buy the extended warranty?

I just picked up my Leaf yesterday and got duped into an overpriced extended warranty from my dealer. I was dumb and did not do my research beforehand. @rickbecker - Is it easy to cancel the extended warranty purchase or am I pretty much at the mercy of the dealer? Thanks.
