    Rochester NY service recommendation?

Just wanted to follow up on my own question in case anyone else is interested: tried again with Dorschel (they had a representative calling me regularly to remind me about the recalls), but after multiple requests, no one they connected me to could confirm that they were prepared to do all...

    Rochester NY service recommendation?

Thanks for the info! I now have three recall notices, one for the brake SW update, one for a passenger airbag sensor and one for some AC pipes, and Dorschel has been calling me to come in. So I called them back and they say I could come in for the SW update but they don't have parts for the...

    Rochester NY service recommendation?

Hey folks, haven't checked in here in a while since moving from FL to NY and only recently got a LEAF (2015 S). I was wondering if anyone else in the Rochester area can recommend a dealer for service. I bought the car from Dorschel, but when I called them about the cold weather brake recall...

Marketing Suggestions for Nissan: Let's Get Serious

Here in FL I'm usually seeing a Volt once a week these days (different colors, so not all the same one!) but as for Leafs, I've still only seen three in the wild - four if you count the one owned by FPL (the power utility). What this suggests to me is the average buyer is willing to pay 40K for...

    BUY NOW or LATER

Okay, so as someone who's decided to wait for the 2014 model, a silly question maybe... any info (or speculation) about what the buying process will be like then? I must be one of the few (considering all the orphans out there) who had a reservation but didn't order. Nissan USA called...

    Ordering 2012 model today

No, with a 100 mile range, the Leaf is better suited for me. But thanks for the suggestion anyway! Correct, not that I have found - though even that would excessive. Again, call me naive, but MSRP means MSRP, not MSRP+850.

    Ordering 2012 model today

Ah well, it's looking like it's not to be for me after all this time. Unless some dealer comes through with a deal to get me out the door at 36k or less, I don't think it's gonna happen. Maybe if no one in FL accepts the quotes given, they'll reconsider their fees? Otherwise I guess...

    Ordering 2012 model today

Well, maybe I'm a naive car buyer, but when I hear MSRP, I take it to mean 35200 for the SV, which is already pretty steep, as discussed! So when I'm told that doesn't include the destination fee (850) and a dealer fee (599 and 999 from the two dealers I asked), that's a significant...

    Ordering 2012 model today

kmp, I don't know if your situation was the same as mine - I was still stuck at the "schedule an assessement" requirement. I just chatted with CS and they fixed it; I was able to click the "show me the checkbox" and then check and save the waiver. I have not proceeded with the RAQ yet but it...

    Ordering 2012 model today

Good news: I got a call from CS saying the site is fixed. Bad news: Looks like my assessment waiver is disabled again, so I'll have to call back to ask them to re-enable it. Worse news: I cannot get an informal quote from any local dealers that is anywhere near MSRP. Still calling around though.

    Dealer invoice price on 2012's

And I've been told 33700 on the SV.

    Ordering 2012 model today

Wow, this must be some serious issue. As a SW guy myself, I really wonder what's gone so wrong here. After all, the system WAS tested: by live users in the first wave states - all they should have had to do is update the dealer-specific data. Unless they changed some other logic in response...

Leaf Certified - does it matter?

Well the Royal Palm Nissan guys said something like that initially, but after I asked them to check into it, they found there were some additional tests they needed to take to get certified, and once they did that the page updated (yesterday) to show them as certified.

    Ordering 2012 model today

I believe I got a waiver, but I didn't check the box and continue before the system got screwed up, so I don't know what my status is now. Just as a test I tried to schedule an assessment but got the error that others have reported about "not servicing your geographic area." On a positive...

    Florida

As an update, apparently the Royal Palm Nissan guys have jumped through the right hoops and are now showing up as Leaf certified. LTL, you can only request a quote from one at a time, which is why it's probably best to agree ahead of time with your preferred dealer on what the quote will be...

    Ordering 2012 model today

Yep, I did tell them exactly that - but my point was why are they having to get this info from me, some random customer, rather than through official channels?

    Ordering 2012 model today

Okay thanks! Maroone Delray I had previously ruled out since they wouldn't give me a straight answer on whether they'd sell for MSRP, but maybe I was too harsh on them and could reconsider. Esserman is a bit far for me, but I guess I'll only need to make a one way trip in the Leaf. However, I...

    Ordering 2012 model today

Thanks for the info spike - you seem to have had better luck than I have. So can you recommend a dealer or two?

    Ordering 2012 model today

That's great info Gary, but you've skipped over the part before the negotiation where the dealer says "the car's not for sale yet" or "we haven't got a shipment yet" or "we don't know the price yet." Four out of five dealers in my area have NO idea what the ordering process is and are...

    Florida

Okay, if anyone wants an update on South Florida dealers... I contacted all of these simply to ask if they were aware of the ordering process and would they commit to sell at MSRP or below. (Royal) Palm Nissan - Agreed in writing to sell at MSRP, but not yet Leaf certified! They are trying to...
