I finally took the plunge and bought a brand new silver 2022 LEAF S after driving my 2012 LEAF for ten years. I so love the newer design and the longer range. My 2012 now gets 40-50 miles per charge. I have loaned it to my son-in-law, who has a 25 mike commute & can charge at work. So it is...
I have a 2012 LEAF with a degraded to 8 bars original battery. Does anyone have any recent info about the cost of a replacement battery at this time? Thanks.
I am the original owner of a 2012, drive all of the time in ECO mode, & my lifetime average at 41,000 miles is 4.6. I will be getting new tires this week and am hoping not to experience too big of a range hit as I am down 3 capacity bars.
I must say having been in college during the Zero Population movement, I am simply amazed at how many of my friend’s kids are having three and four children. I have to keep my lips firmly pressed together each time I hear of another family addition. I fear I have become an old fogey.
I drive a 2012 LEAF & my lifetime number is 4.6miles/KWh. My total mileage is just over 40,000 miles. The LEAF has been & continues to be the perfect vehicle for this retiree.
Lost my third capacity bar on the 6th anniversary of purchasing my 2012 LEAF. (8/2/2012). My LEAF still meets the vast majority of my driving needs. Range is 60-65 miles.
I am very disappointed to hear this as I have been planning all along to buy a replacement battery once my 2012 LEAF doesn't meet my driving needs. So far it still meets 95% of my driving needs as a two bar loser. I was hoping to make my LEAF last a good 15 years. That seems to now be doubtful...
My 2012 LEAF has a total of 36,500 miles and a lifetime average of 4.7. I bought it new in August of 2012. It has lost 2 capacity bars and still meets 95% of my driving needs. My 2002 Chrysler Town & Country covers the rest of my driving for trips over 60 miles. Very happy with my LEAF.
When I need charging away from home, I prefer to go for a walk to guarantee my 10,000 steps each day. I have also been known to read or shop. Just within the last year, I have become aware of many more charges in the areas I frequent away from home.
I came back from a 2 week vacation to find that my 12volt battery had died. Called AAA, who tested the battery, advised me to get a new one, and $147 later my 2012 LEAF was good to go once again. After 6 and a half years, I am still loving driving my LEAF.
I, too, saw the piece on PBS. Now that I know Whole Foods carries Beyond Meat, I will be giving the burgers a try. We rarely eat beef any more and my husband does miss it. I hope it tastes as good as the reporter on PBS made it sound. Thanks.
My advice is to not go OCD on it. Sure, give it a little love but don't go extreme. Enjoy it as a normal car and drive it.
One of the original Forum members gave me this same advice in early 2013. I took it and am still loving driving my 2012 LEAF. It is a 2 bar loser with 36,000 miles. And it...
