Colorado tax credit - buy out of state?

You must title it first in Colorado. I had a dealer in Wyoming and Oregon help me do it. In California, they just put it on a car carrier because if you drive it off the lot it will be with CA title.

You don't always get what you want...in your Gen two LEAF

Without this feature, I will pass on upgrading my 2016 LEAF. It pains me to not have this feature with Tesla and Bolt offering some version of less-than-full charging. Currently, I only charge when I plan to use the car the next day, but I would like to plug it in nightly like I do with my...

Post your questions about the '18 LEAF 2 reveal here

Tesla allows you to set the max charge between 50%-100%. The Bolt has a "hilltop reserve" mode that only charges to 90% so you have regen when driving down the mountain. I hate that Nissan got rid of their 80% charge mode in 2015 or so. Will the Gen2 allow you to charge to less than 100%...

2017 Leaf to offer V2G: Thoughts?

The 2018 LEAF is spec'ed to have V2G, but where are the solutions. I think the new 2018 LEAF is largely dead on arrival compared to the competition. A real V2G solution would be a reason to buy a LEAF. Nissan would have to find a way to age the battery warranty according to V2G usage so that...

New Leaf Owner : Is the ride bumpy or is it just me?

I have owned 4 LEAFs and I never found them bumpy. To heavy to bump around like most econoboxes. I would say the one driven must have been defective or it was just you being too critical.

    Official Tesla Model S thread

I predict that they will do a token shipment in 2017 to some employees and non-employees will start getting cars in the first quarter 2018. In any event, those a the front of the line I think will get the full rebate. If not, I may just stick with my current rides.

    Official Tesla Model S thread

The Bolt sales are production constrained now. Should Tesla announce delay with the Model 3, I think we will see demand for the Bolt explode. I would expect sales of the LEAF to implode soon with the Bolt and even worse should the Model 3 be on time. Many don't pay enough taxes to take...

JDapter - Tesla charging for your EV

No big company is incentivised to come out with this. If Tony or this motorcycle company does, it will be a blessing. If you aren't planning on helping the community with something like this, I wouldn't throw stones. I personally would love to see this done to provide another pool of free...

    80% Charging on 2014-17 LEAF

Wouldn't it be easy enough to have an IFFTT script that could ping the LEAF for state of charge and command a ChargePoint Home adapter to turn off once it hits 80%. ChargePoint could put this into their app too easily enough.

    InsideEVs Calls EVSE a "Charger"

Did all 2013 and newer SV's have QC and battery heater?

I believe they made the cold weather package standard in 2012 for all models and that included the battery heater. The 2011s could get the cold weather package as an option about mid-year, but not initially. I am not sure the 2011s with a cold weather option had a battery heater. If you live...

    Gauging interest ios/android app.

Many WiFi connected chargers allow a stop command. Maybe it can be done with one of those.

    Gauging interest ios/android app.

I would like to see something that could stop charging at 80% (or any top value we chose). Additionally, something that could take your car's location and plug that into Google Maps for routing and then send the route to the car. Better A/C control would be great and maybe could cycle on if...

    80% Charging on 2014-17 LEAF

I just upgraded to a 2016 LEAF and hate charging to 100%. I leave a car for business in DC and only visit one week a month. I hate that the car might be left soaking at a full charge. It is common knowledge that this is bad for modern battery chemistry and that Nissan removed the feature...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

Colorado has those bulk buys going. I think there are similar deals today. I think a good one was going in Texas too. The LEAF is very popular here. I wish I could get my kids to drive one, but no luck.

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

I bought my 2016 SV about a year ago for $7600 off MSRP plus a free charger. With the $7500 Federal and $6000 state incentives, a pretty cheap car for sure.

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

They have had crazy pricing for a couple years mainly driven by the fact that there were better EV options at the price they were asking, e.g., e500, Soul, Golf. I think pricing will remain low to move a dated model with sub-par Nav. With a new model competitive with the Bolt and Model 3, we...

Replacing 12v lead-acid battery with Lipo

Almost everything but the drive train runs off the 12V battery. Just like a normal car. I think these EVs would have a DC to DC converter just to step things down and not have an accessory battery at all.

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

They said air cooled so that means it won't be a LG in all likelihood.
