Disable EV Sound on 2021 Leaf?

I just picked up my 2022 and unfortunately having a hard time with the noise. I had one of the 1st 2012 leafs in my area and loved it, also have a model 3. I went through heavy chemo a few years ago and it caused really bad tinnitus. What I love the most about EV’s is the silence, the humm of...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

I agree with the slush ice buildup on my leaf, I think lower suspension will help. My bmw wagon with sports package suspension is much lower and never had a problem...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

If you need 130-140 miles in winter Toronto commuting this is not the car for you. Even with no heat on you will not get that kind of range. Sitting for an hour + in the cold with no heat, no defrost is a miserable experience. I have been there. And relying on a level 3 charge on a regular...

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

I don't normally get involved in internet debate but as a former leaf owner of 4 yrs waiting for a Gen 2 Here is my 2 cents My leaf was great in the snow, 4 good snowtires no problems here in Canada. BUT electrics have a lot of drawbacks in snow and cold. The one thing gas cars are good at is...

I did some searching but could not find anything... The 2012 EVSE "Brick" was replaced by a smaller Panasonic EVSE for 2013. But I see that the 2015-16 EVSE looks the same but is not the same part #'s Any differences? Thanks!

    Unlocking doors with CAN?

Compustar has a unit that does this....called an EZ go. But seriously trying to make intellikey easier? How freakin lazy can a person be....wow too much work to touch the button on the door handle?

    Unlocking doors with CAN?

But you would have to lock the doors by canbus, sounds like a lot more work then just pushing the button on he handle. I have seen lots of guys do remote starters without using disarm and telling the client to only use he aftermarket remote so it never arms but when the client locks he door...

    Unlocking doors with CAN?

For The new nissan PTS cars when we do remote start we control almost everything with canbus and 2 wires at the PTS switch.

    Unlocking doors with CAN?

I do remote starters for a few Nissan dealers and work with 2 of the companies here in Montreal that make the canbus bypass units. Needless to say I have not put one in my Leaf but on other nissan models some (normal key) cars you can cntrol lock unlock through can but not arm disarm. On early...

Hi everyone, Haven't been on the board for a while and I tried searching but am having no luck. You know your key-fob battery is running low when... Part 2

I do remote starter for 3 Nissan dealers and I take the fobs apart almost every day. Nissan used to use 2025's but they now use 2032's in all remotes from the factory and when they replace batteries in the older remotes they use. 2032's This 7 page thread can be closed! Personally i replace...

    Radar Detector: Power and Mount

A radar detector in my leaf is not needed where I live. There are few cash grab radar traps on side roads and you are OK on the highway up to 120km /h Over that speed doesn't happen often! But there is 12v constant at the homelink buttons and if not there is always ignition and constant at...

Hidden test to find out if you are OCD

If the 2 clocks not being in sync drives you nuts you should look into it. I saw a thread about it years ago and it reminded me of many years ago when I was an installer at an audio shop and a client came back because the clock on the radio we installed did not keep time as well as the oem...

    Removal of factory mud flaps

Not where I live... At less then -15C the ice in teh wheelwells is like a rock. You can hurt yourself! But removing the mudflaps would mean the pain would take the brunt of the snow ice and rocks. Nissan paint is lousy at best. I am sure you would have lots of damage.

power window stops working when cold

Mine got slow, in the middle of closing. Got better and worse depending on the weather, then burned the switch. Replaced switch on warranty, still slow. Put silicone spray. Works as new, common on all Nissans.
