2015 LEAF dash / console fire

I happened across this insurance auction listing for a 2015 S that caught fire, and I thought people might be interested.

This car is apparently on an auction lot in Fremont, CA right now.

A couple pics from the listing showing the damage:

There's no obvious damage visible from the picture under the hood, and the rest of the car is pretty unremarkable from the outside, except for some soot visible on the inside of the windshield.

The fire seems to have originated from the same general area that Shawn75067's 2013 SL's fire originated.

The fire and smoke was coming out of the console in the passenger compartment, not the dash itself. I wish I could post the picture of the cutaway so you could see what area I'm referring to and what is there. The area was right at the cup holders and in front of them in the little shelf area.

Of course, there's no telling what was going on when this auction car caught fire. Was it driving, parked, or was someone under the dash fiddling with wires? Who knows. These fires are apparently rare, but I think this is worth documenting when they're found.

If somebody recognizes this car and can add some information, that would be great. I didn't find anything on it here with a cursory search.

Looks like it started near the base of the centerstack/console. 12v accessory plugged in there could be a likely suspect.
