All my numbers were "from the wall" numbers - I generally estimate about 21 kWh usable for a new LEAF.ELROY said:Of that 3.8kWh that goes into the charger, I believe only about 3.3kWh makes it to the battery. Besides, I don't think 23.9kWh would be accessible from our battery anyways? What is the capacity supposed to be on our batteries from full to turtle? In a new LEAF. Isn't it supposed to be around 22kWh?
If we estimate that your LEAF took 23.9 kWh from the wall to charge from turtle to 100% and knowing that a new LEAF might take a bit more than 25 kWh to charge from the wall (let's use 25.4 kWh from the NREL paper), that puts your LEAF at about 6% down in capacity from a new LEAF. Note that this is a guess as we don't know the actual energy that was put into the car from the wall.
Knowing that capacity degrades the fastest when the car is new, I am guessing that it is expected, though someone might get the actual number using the battery aging model. We would need to know the manufacture date of the vehicle to figure this out.
