Im a PGE customer in CA, and been using the Leaf for a few months now. I charge about 7-10 hours per day using 110v, since I charge both at work and at home.
Decided to switch from E-1 to E9-A the residential time of use plan.
When I asked them to switch me, they told it me would take one month to take effect, and then laster found out they switched me right away, so I had a month that I was on E9-A but didnt change my electrical use for the month. I was typically charging overnight anyway, and charging during the weekend.
Was happy to find that my rate went down - granted, its only one month. Plus, the winter rate schedule is lower - the E9A rate jumps higher in the summer during peak hours.
Here is how the data fell out:
Oct - E1 Rate
656khw, I we charged $143, for a average cost of $0.21 per Kwh
Nov - E9A Rate
598kWh, we were charged $87.15, for a cost per Kwh of $0.15
Assuming I use on average 600khw per month, Im saving $36 per month on the new rate plan.
