The peak power rates for 2170 cell packs are lower than 1865 for equivalent kWh pack sizes.
We can guess why that is, but the cell reduced surface area to volume is a given.

Yeah, different serial/parallel organizations would account for different peak power comparisons at the cell and the pack levels. This is not surprising, considering the 0-60 differences between 3 and S.

0-60 is a result of the lower motor output of the PM motors and restrictions to separate the product offerings. The Model S 75 just got pushed a software update recently to shave 1 second off the 0-60.

I may not have been clear, I was talking about peak charging rates at a supercharger

I would be surprised if these were seriously inhibited.

30 fake model 3 deliveries, followed by ~5 weeks of near-silence.

Journalists still not allowed to do the standard new model test drives, and virtual silence from the 30 (and any more since?) "owners".

Not like Elon to keep his mouth shut, and even the faithful are wondering what's going on...

So Like it has been a month, and how many new Model 3s are out?

InsideEVs estimates 75 (likely based on DMV registration public records). Still likely going to insiders and higher up employees. I wouldn't use the word "fake" like you do, but still you're not going to get a lot of information yet.

Sounds to me like they are still essentially testing the car, and haven't truly begun production yet.

Actually, he admits he is just guessing:

...So how many did Tesla Model 3s did deliver in August? We feel like a range of somewhere between 40 and 75 sounds about right…so we will go with 75...

So, the invisibility indicates the testing is going well?

Or, just maybe, not so well...

We feel like a range of somewhere between 40 and 75 sounds about right…so we will go with 75 (just to keep the emails of “hey why didn’t you guys say 100 down to a dull roar”), as we imagine Tesla stuck to the CEO’s directive of producing (key word in that quote from Musk – producing…not delivering) 100 Model 3s during August."

It is fair to say Model 3s are not being sold to customers who are free to talk about their car - so, Jul/Aug/Sep deliveries are really internal, even if employees are paying for the cars. We should see Tesla owners get to configure cars shortly - and those deliveries should start in October. If they don't then, Tesla would be behind the schedule Musk tweeted out sometime back.

I personally always assumed Tesla would be at this stage (i.e. soft deliveries) in December. Tesla seems to be ahead by 5 or 6 months from that assumption, so its good. I add 3 months to whatever delivery schedule they are showing for me now - and if they deliver by then, I'd consider it great.

Even so, in the large scheme of things 3 or 6 months delay is mostly meaningless. What would be the share of EVs in the car market in 5 or 10 years ? That's what matters.

How many leafs we're delivered in 2010 to meet their self imposed deadline?

How many were then delivered in Jan and then Feb.

All new cars launch this way. It's just not scrutinized so closely by people who dislike the manufacturer.

They will be just fine once they get the assembly process organized and flowing properly.
