Here is an interview filmed Aug 15, so very recent, and after the "funding" tweet.

Didn't have time to watch much of it, but he looks like he's put on a bunch of weight, sort of incipient Woz bloat-out.

Via IEVS:
Bob Lutz Believes Tesla CEO Elon Musk Should Step Down
https://insideevs.com/bob-lutz-tesla-musk-step-down/

The headline isn't strictly accurate:
. . . I can’t imagine any sound investor who has money in the company or any independent board member would want him to remain as CEO in light of recent performance.

He’s obviously got some emotional problems. He’s self-medicating. He has shown some disturbing signs of being somewhat volatile and unstable.

Interestingly, Lutz thinks that Musk should still be a part of the equation. He also says that the CEO should continue to keep his title. Lutz believes that Musk deserves credit and respect for what he’s created. With the being said, he also insists that it’s time for Tesla to slot someone else into the management role.

Pretty much mirrors my own view. I want Elon to be around for quite a while so he can die on Mars, not after years of custodial care owing to a mental breakdown.

Because running multiple companies and being attacked 24-7 is easy. Right? I'm shocked he is not on the streets shooting up yet.

Its been a wild ride the last few weeks. I bought some additional shares at 297 just before the tweet, and then saw it fall back to my purchase price yesterday after rising to 350, and now today its headed back up toward 350 gain. crazy movement.

https://www.tesla.com/blog/staying-public

After considering all of these factors, I met with Tesla’s Board of Directors yesterday and let them know that I believe the better path is for Tesla to remain public. The Board indicated that they agree.
