The BMW 740e plug-in hybrid luxury yacht

As with other plug-in hybrids, the 740e will be able to run on electric juice alone, with BMW indicating that the sedan will be able to cover between 25 and 30 miles on a full charge.

With something this big and heavy, that's not all that bad but should be better with how much room they would have to pack a battery; they'll even offer an extended wheelbase one as well ... not cheap though

The 740e and 740Le will go on sale in August and will start at $90,095.

Battery 9.2 kWh total, 6.5 kWh usable (Note: the article uses "gross" and "net" capacity, and I'm assuming that equates to total and usable), EPA AER 14 miles.
