Some fun with heatmaps and EV related data

Sun Sep 02, 2018 10:27 pm

USA Tesla Superchargers using the number of stalls at each Supercharger as part of the heatmap. -- (note Canada is not included in my heatmap) -- I put supercharger.info data into https://fusiontables.google.com and used stalls for the weight.

Volts -- Voltstats.net heatmap (yes, I realize it is a small subset of Volts)
Aside: seems to be some visual correlation between *EV interested Volt (&Bolt) owners and where Tesla SCs are. Make sense as you would expect Tesla SCs to be where larger populations of Teslas are and travel thru (and other *EV owners)

Scott, your maps are a treat.

I live in the 4 corners area where NM, CO, AZ and UT meet. The map shows the area to be, if not a Supercharger desert, to be pretty arid. And yet I am well served by Superchargers and we take our Tesla anywhere and everywhere without a second thought to charging. It really shows just how thought out and well developed the network is circa 2018.

Thanks. The fusion product worked great for the Tesla map.

I see what you mean even now in mid-2018 for the 4 corners of NM, CO, AZ, and UT and the options you have ... and with more coming!

Yep, the 'coming in 2018' sites will open the area to the the Model 3 SR and make my own driving a little faster and more flexible. I'm looking forward to the Montrose Supercharger in particular.
