Junk car, totally overpriced. RIP.

I wouldn't say junk. It looks like a nice car, but the price-tag is all wrong. It needs to be about $10,000 cheaper in order to compete in the market place. As it stands, I can buy a Leaf for the same price, what reason would I want that vehicle with a maximum speed of 67 mph?

A friend of mine drove one recently and he was surprised in how good and 'car like' it felt. In many ways, he felt it was better than a Smart ForTwo. But at the price they're asking for, it really is going to struggle to sell in any sort of numbers.

The only way that these specialist companies are going to survive is to either build something genuinely different and interesting - electric sports coupes, electric SUVs, a car that morphs into a helicopter or somesuch - or to come up with an electric car that genuinely competes with gasoline models from major manufacturers at a price that competes with them.

So companies like REVA or BYD or Tesla have the potential to do really well in the future, but companies like Wheego and the like may struggle.
