Fast Charging

Thu Apr 22, 2010 10:13 am

I believe it will benefit Nissan and Leaf sales greatly the sooner Nissan can make the fast charging system (50kw+ on-board level III charging) available to consumers. This will encourage "gas stations", states, and others to install the 480V charging systems that the fast-charging requires, sooner rather than later, and will help satisfy people's desire to extend their effective range, by enabling 80% charge in less than 30 min.

When the 440/480v "Quick-charge" connection is supplied (or supported), apparently the 120v "slow-charge-ANYWHERE" will still be available on the J1772 connector, right?
I hope so.
Being able to charge anywhere 110/120v is available, is a BIG feature, in my mind.

Is there any indication that the Leaf will NOT have the Quick-charge right from the beginning?
If so, I have not seen that info.
